Dynamis is an awesome event, I love it
Dynamis is ok because it's different than other events, and I like these huge alliance battles
Dynamis lags like hell, mobs are dead when I engage them, but I still like it because the concept is good
Dynamis is cool, but this event is too long
Dynamis is cool, I wish the event was longer
Dynamis is cool because I can watch TV during the event
Dynamis would be cool if scaled for less people, because it actually lags and mobs are already dead when I engage
Dynamis sucks, I go there for the drops only
Dynamis sucks, I go there for the drops only and the drop rates sucks
Dynamis sucks, I go there because my ls forces me to go
Dynamis sucks, and it's a fucking long boring event
Dynamis sucks, and I can't do something else at the same time
Dynamis sucks, please give us a more interesting event to get the same drops

Dynamis is still fun for me but after so long of doing it I find myself enjoying the CoP zones much much more. You go in, kill stuff and get out and you still have a few hours left of the evening to go do something else.
Cities have really started to put me to sleep, not so much with the game design mind you but because of the constant repetition of typing same shit out week after week after week to n00bs: "Camp here, pull that, no, not that one, sleep those, aaahhh SLEEP THEM!!!, use /assist, turn /autotarget off" etc. etc.... It became hella funner couple of weeks ago when we finally started doing LS runs.![]()
I really hate dynamis. I thought when I first was doing it, that it was fun, but I was wrong. The length of it all is what bothers me the most.
The only redeeming quality is when a piece of af drops that someone really wants.
I don't mind CoP dynamis as much.
That option is right under the option that reads "Dynamis is a headache to the shell leaders because half the people don't follow directions/rules or listen because they belong to a different LS and listen to their leader instead of the shell hosting the event"Originally Posted by Firedemon
I loved the strike when only 2 members from your shell showed up, was the smoothest run we had before all the officers voted to stop doing dyna. As much as I hate to defend him, the leader was having school probs, but it was not his decision to kill dyna, he wanted to continue doing sat runs, the rest of the leaders were tired of all the bs and drama and we outvoted him. Btw, the shell is not broken, we do salvage/nyzel runs frequently, it's just we don't have as much baggage as we did this time last year.
edit, btw, i do agree with your last line tho

done it too many times, too long, too random. CoP is too short for the price.
the worse thing is having AF drop and it being a piece nobody wants.
Sucks. I'd rather go the rest of my time on FFXI with no relic equip than have to suffer any more of the misery and waste of time black hole that is Dynamis. So I don't do it.
I like dynamis and it wouldn't be fun if it were really easy but it is a LONG event and It becomes tedious having to spend six hours a week for god knows how long to get an item. I'm not a casual player either.
I like limbus and einherjar so much more because they require a reasonable amount of time/gil, you can low man a lot of the zones, and you usually always get something.
Edit: obviously you can't low man einherjar and by get something i mean Ichor.
This is what bothers me the most. I'm happy when DRG AF drops so long as someone wants it.Originally Posted by layoneil
You sure you mean almost full clear? We normally clear all the original pops and time out somewhere after the Mega Boss while farming repops. Never gotten less than 200 singles in Sandy when doing that. Our last Sandy netted a record (for us) 15 AF2s as well.Originally Posted by Furionstormrage

On topic, I personally enjoy Dynamis. I wish Zilart Dynamis was about an hour shorter and CoP Dynamis was about 30 minutes longer though. I also wish we'd get shit we want from Xarcabard instead of Wyrm Armets.

Where random drops are concerned, at least you can store them if you have a complete set. Start collecting them all like Pokemon.
It's impossible to get such a low droprate in sandy, even without a thief, period.
POIDH
I've never found dynamis very fun, and I've only done most zones 1-2 times each. I can see how it would be a bit less boring if you went in with a relatively small group, but it's gonna be repetitive as hell anyway.
they should spice dynamis up and add AF2 for cor,blu,pup,sch,dnc...Who cares about the story like 5% of the people that play care about the story...
5%?
Haha, hahahahahahaha... Oh boy.
I can't sthahahahahahahahahahahaha
At this point Dynamis is more about the currency than anything, and it'll always remain that way just because SE has refused to offer alternative means of getting it. Which blows, because as much as Dynamis is OK for me I'd love to not feel occupied to it merely for spamming for currency.
A whole new event of much higher difficulty that could produce similar amounts of currency as the city runs would be absolutely amazing. At worst coincide it with the Dynamis timer to prevent currency flooding, so that you can only do one or the other at any given time.
Then just make it something like Einherjar, possibly a little more challenging in different ways, where you have no more than 30-60 minutes max to accomplish some set of objectives and a boss fight for final rewards. Boss could drop two chests with one containing 4-8 hundreds, and the other with a random set of 4-8 AF2, and mobs along the way have a chance for single currency/AF2.
Basically, it'd just be trading significantly less time wasted for higher difficulty, to accomplish the same results any good group can already accomplish in a city. Which is what this should be more about, achieving difficult tasks. Not having the patience/boredom to do something monotonously easy for hours on end twice a week for years.
The whole system needs to be looked at or replaced I think. Relic weapons should remain about the same difficulty as they always have been maybe lowering the price of dynamis and lowering the drop rate on currency to keep them rare?
As for AF2 though it's ridiculous when you have 7-8 Blms that all need their hat and you keep getting garbage drops like War, Drk, Sam, etc. Adding ways to trade armor would be a very good idea. Also HQ AF2 was a poorly thought out idea and had huge potential to draw jobs back to dynamis. So much of the gear in dynamis isn't even better than what's available for purchase off the AH. They could easily sit there and add +10 acc, +5 att, +5 str, and +5 dex to Warrior's Lorica to make it better than NQ level 59 armor. Hell scale the cost to bonus, Sorcerer's Petasos +1 is good the way it is keep the cost the same but for a large upgrade like the one mentioned for Warrior's Lorica make it a bit more (shouldn't be substantially more given how crappy it is to begin with.)
That's one of the biggest disappointment factors in dynamis is the lack of control over what you're going after. Adding bosses to each zone that had a high chance of dropping the correct AF would give a better sense of accomplishing something. Making stuff scalable would be nice but it'd be very hard to do without drastically changing how dynamis worked. I guess you could put in smaller groups of mobs and more bosses possibly even adding +movement to areas like the northlands and CoP out door areas. Then you'd have to make the mini bosses have a greater impact on weakening the mega boss.
Overall it wouldn't be hard to do but it would take a massive amount of tweaking which I doubt SE would consider doing. So possibly just lowering the strength of monsters completely and raising AF2 drop rates might be the best people could hope for. Timers and dynamis not being instanced are big time needing to be addressed. Lowering the time limit or allowing people to enter twice a week anytime would be good. As for worrying about monopolizing zones if they put in better drop rates, made it more manageable for smaller groups, and made the runs shorter they'd probably clear up the waiting lines pretty fast.
Well, I like and dislike the idea.Originally Posted by RKenshin

However, I would also like to open the event to smaller groups while still giving them interesting results.
I think a less expensive hourglass for a limited group of players ( like 12) and providing less currencies and of course less AF could be profitable to almost everyone.
The money spent each week by players to enter the event would be the same, and the currencies produced every week on a server would also be the same, so it wouldn't change the current balance ( unless everyone starts doing this event).
The players would be able to share the drops of a dynamis run more easily and more evenly, because the group would be smaller.
It would somehow ruin the concept of sponsorship, because even if the price for each single compared to the entry fee would stay the same, the total of currencies a player could get each week by sponsoring the event would be lowered.
On the other hand, it would open new horizons for players to farm currencies to sell these to relic upgraders, and I like this concept because it is clearly opposed and more fair than the sponsorship concept that is to pay a group with random AFs to farm currencies for a single player.
