Further proof that clearing ALL of San d'Oria nets you MUCH more than 58 singles.

Dynamis Run A != Dynamis Run B != Dynamis Run C != ... != Dynamis Run x

Each run is a separate case. One run does not create a rule across the board.

Does the possibility exist? Yes. I've gone on runs where the best we walked away with was a single 100 piece, some odd currency and 0 AF. Is it highly probable that this will happen all the time? Probably not.

I enjoyed dynamis the first few times I ran it, then after having stupid people who don't have basic common sense it killed me. Same went for wow while I played that. I almost feel that FFXI's fights were more difficult than most of the wow fights because if you couldn't keep up you were fucked, with wow you can go run and restart something, there is no running in FFXI. However, I enjoyed most of the raid content I did in WoW more than FFXI even though both were mind numbingly boring. I mean, if you want one of the best small scale raid/instances I've played with, I'd say Zul'Aman was great, and all instances should be as fun as those.

I believe Dynamis to still be fun.

To be fair though I've only been doing it around 2 years, and have had some extreme luck with drops. I have 6/6 Ninja and Thief(with Assassin's Armlets being the 3rd piece of AF2 I obtained), 4/6 Warrior, and 2/6 Dark Knight. I have all 4 Xarc pieces, but it's still my favorite non CoP zone. Favorite overall is easily tied between Bubu and Tavnazia.

Guess I should level another job with somewhat contested AF so that I can become cynical about droprates. Blm is up and coming if I ever decide to stop being lazy and finish it. :-"

It's also hard for one person or another to say that a certain prize is the end all be all in the mog lottery, well for anything under rank 1 that is. I'd take Vbelt in a second for rank 2, and you actually make money when getting that thing.

Also, I don't believe the 58 coins in a Sandy clear guy. Maybe if he said without a single instance of TH, but only then. It's incredibly noticable if you go into a run without treasure hunter.

The thing is, it's not terrible -- for the first half hour. After that, I get sick of it. Only thing that makes Dynamis fun is chatting with people on vent and making fun of idiots. And the retarded crap people post in their vent comments to keep us entertained.

I'm so sick of going, honestly. I just started with a new shell and after ten minutes I remembered why it sucks. It was partially the people I was with before (lol) but partially just because Dynamis blows, plain and simple.

Friend on my server says it best in his bazaar comment: "Dynamis is like a girl with syphallis. I don't want to do it but I can't say no."

For example to ballpark it on the idea that 0-3 pieces can drop and all is equally likely...

The possibilities and their associated probabilities are:
0 drops - 25%
1 drops - 25%
2 drops - 25%
3 drops - 25%
Thus the probably is a uniform discrete distribution defined from 0 to 3, with a mean of 1 1/2.

Then the overall drop rate is going to be the sum of n random variables which share the above distribution... and i'm getting lazy. Central limit theorem, etc. In the end you get a very small chance, but it's technically possible.

I don't see why people are wasting their time calling him a liar. Do I believe him? No. But you can't prove that he IS a liar, and repeating that it's unlikely over and over again and then saying that it isn't possible (which isn't true) makes you just as much of a liar as he is.

Really? I didn't know that at all. You're totally right that "no way in hell" means that I thought there is exactly a zero chance of getting that few drops. It's impossible that I used the phrase "no way in hell" as a hyperbole.

Id be happy with a scaled down dynamis that was similar to WoW instances, trash mobs otw to a Boss' that can drop Goodies.

something like :

1 Hour event
18 people Max
X ammount of trash mobs that drop nothing but coins / relic weapons / misc upgrade pieces (wootz etc) - low-ish drop rates.
Scaling Bosses that have a chance to drop AF

I'd go to Dynamis if it wasn't so long. There's no way I can make it to an event of that duration on a regular basis, due to RL time constraints (work, family).

Limbus, Nyzul Isle, regular Assault, and Salvage are all easier to schedule and seem much more time-efficient.

There is only one person that cares for currencies, it's the sponsor upgrading a relic.
AF ( pathetic) drop rates are what keep 98% of the players doing this event, but the real point of dynamis is to farm for the 2% players that plan to get a relic.

You can't remove currencies without removing AF weapons, and you can't put AF2 into a new event without adding currencies as well ( or a new event to get currencies).
