I manually cast cures on RDM and WS on melee jobs but macro the rest.

I manual cure, haste, refresh, erase, stoneskin, etc.
That is different than a tank. If I played ninja, I wouldn't do blinking manually. I don't blink manually on ranger or drk when i sub ninja. BUT... as long as we get chain 4million, or manage to kill whatever it is we are trying to kill in a timely fashion then I don't see the point in bitching about how each individual plays the game.
Just strikes me as a little odd when someone who goes through the effort to obtain the entire Usukane set yet doesn't use basic game functions...Originally Posted by Quizno
Hey morons, I'm gonna guess that he didn't feel like remaking all his macros just to do a video.
It says right in the OP that he's usually not even on PC, so I think we can safely assume he doesn't have all his normal macros right here.
Now yes, there's that new system that allows us to upload our macros to the server, but since it's implementation I'm pretty sure most people have not used it.
I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that on his console, he uses macros.

What's the problem?
I didnt know you had a relic. I feel like there's this whole part about your life I'm not clued into and it makes me sad, WafikOriginally Posted by Lordwafik

No problem, I just prefer to try to be as efficient as possible when I play the game. This includes having utsu/debuffs macro'd as ninja, as I can increase my ninjitsu skill with item swaps in my macros, as I explained earlier. I scanned the OP prior to responding, I didn't see the part about not usually being on computer, but either way it doesn't really matter I guess.Originally Posted by Lordwafik
You're speaking about something as pathetically easy as meriting on birds, or soloing deco weapons though. It's like saying that tin foil and the heat resistant material they use on space shuttles are of the same usefulness because they both won't melt if you hold them 5 yards away from a campfire. Go solo Faust on RDM, or do anything that is comparably dynamic and challenging, and you'll get massacred if you run around the entire time with your cursor on your menu. This is BG, not Allakhazam. Go make the "I'll play the game how I want" argument over there and you might find people who are sympathetic.Originally Posted by Quizno
I thought this topic was about usu? I like how it turned into a macro fight...

But ya, I like the look of usu and the OP seems to make it work for him (even if there are 183742394 other ways to accomplish the same thing), was a neat video to see. Good job :]
If anything stayed on topic past the second page here i'm sure it'd be one of the signs of the Apocalypse.Originally Posted by siknoz
On an unrelated note, im with Wafik.
I don't know if Lyra has macros on his PS2 (he is usually on PS2) but he's tanked, literally, every mob in the game. Hell, he's tanked Vrtra on WHM lol. He knows what the fuck he's doing whether it's with the menu or not. I know for a fact he macros gear swaps, or he's got teh fastest fucking fingers I've ever seen. I've WHMd for a ton of tanks at just about every HNM, and he's one of the best, easily the best NIN we had for as long as our LS existed.Originally Posted by thestalkmore
I menu-cast utsusemi.

If I desperately need to get Utsu up I menu it cus macros do lag bad.
^ that
I argue on BG over menu casting vs. macro casting.
I have every shadow macro'd just because at the bare minimum I use loquacious earring in every cast, but I do menu cast all my enfeebs unless I think I need the swap.
i don't think locq works for utsu casts if you swap it in at the start of the spell? I think you have to be wearing it prior to casting or something.
for nin I went with macros for the common use spells, and used the menu for the other ones (dokumori, elementals, /drk spells out of the general rotation). it seemed the easiest to do and you could always have the right gear on for the spells you spam in rotation.
nice vid though; not super impressive (I don't think that's the point of it anyway) but cool to look at.
yeah, it has to be on when the spell starts casting, but that's easy to macro in.
It works at the start of the spell.. its just not very noticeable.
