Another option-- go Dnc.

It takes longer than /nin does, but evasion isn't quite as essential. Spam bloody bolts as you would with a Nin, and plan on spamming Curing Waltz II and keep the Samba up all the time. He hits hard, but evasion gear should leave you fine. Only real danger of dying is if you stop bolt-spamming or waltz-spamming. Takes about 15 minutes this way, and if you have capped shield, you'll actually block fairly well (and, I assume as a Pld, you do have capped shield).

I actually dont have DNC and SCH unlocked. I just reactivated May 2 after taking an 8 month break, so I dont have the expansion just yet.

Yes my shield is capped, my marksmanship is 11 from cap and my evasion is 35 from cap.

Sam/dnc owns alky. Went in 300% full hp, came out 300% full hp. im sure thf/dnc could do the same.

Not difficult to come out of a battle with 300% TP and full HP if you get a swing off that kills it just after your last dance.

Not that its exactly the same, but I've soloed Alky with absolutely no trouble on NIN/DNC (I think the few times I've done it I've needed maybe 2 cures). I wasn't even using an evasion build, and actually had some -evasion gear on the first few times I did it. I do have 2 evasion merits, but thats not really much compared to THF traits.

Go /NIN, bring bolts if you have them, but don't freak out, its a pretty easy fight if you can count, as has been said already.
