That is actually false, except the price part.

The q6700 has a multiplier of 10 while the q6600 has a multiplier of 9.

The q6700 has more overclock potential due to that, however, like all chips, it all depends on the chip itself, as all chips are unique in terms of overclocking.

I saw the Q6700 dropped to $279.99 I thought the Q6600 was $249.99 for some reason.. I knew the price difference was ~$250 not too long ago

Re: New PC Build Time - Now with finished product.

So got all the parts I ordered this week, and everythings been fully operational since yesterday, so not too bad.

Boot time is like 10 secs, which is nice compaired to the 5min my old PC was. Old PC also ran FFXI at 100% CPU, now its around 15% and I can actually do other things on my PC when FFXI is up. My only complaint is the Raptor drive, it's a bit loud, but it still is the fastes drive out, though the new Caviars are right on it's heels, oh well. I can actually run FFXI at 30fps, wtf is that? My normal was 12, and in big areas it went to like 3, now it only goes down to about 22 in Einenjar, we'll see how it acts in like Dyna-Windy. Game looks good too while playing with no lag. CPU fun is HEUG.

Good job going with an ATI card... as long as you play this game you won't regret it. =P

And your case looks relatively clean and wires-free... I wish that was the case (no pun intended) with mine.

I just could never stand Nvidia >.x
And the case is huge so theres alot of places to run and hide wires, makes air circulation alot better for sure, plus the crap ton of fans the thing came with. 9 fans on the case just alone, then 1 on the CPU, GPU and 4 small ones on the 2 HDDs.

Good to hear a success story on these forums... usually it's nothing but HALPTHISISBROKEN. Enjoy your new build!

Kekeke, I bet theyre loud. My old office was in a server room, so lol, yeah loud fans and HDs all the time = funfun. New Raptors coming out soon, sposed to be dead quiet, plus a crap ton better.

And im running VL x86 XP Pro SP3 slipstreamed, was thinking maybe Server 2003.. but meh.. works great as a normal home pc.. but there are a few problems with it, so I didnt want to deal with it.
