What are we talking about here? If you pick Clock B, it better be because you have a Parisian theme, or a cafe theme, or something where a clock referencing Paris makes sense. Otherwise it's going to look just dumber than a clock with IIII for the number 4.

Also, it sounds like you shopped at one store, where one manufacturer or style may be dominent in the inventory, hence why "all of the clocks" show the IIII.

But really, at the end of the day, it's a freaking wall piece, hardly there for utility. Buy the clock that accents the living room best, and go back to your life.

Clock A has IIII to balance out the VIII symmetrically. Clock B could be considered poor design, because the VIII isn't balanced by the IV, and the left side of the clock could feel "heavier." In this case, it's not about the numerals being "right" or "wrong," but a judgment call on the part of some designer somewhere. Makes a bit of sense, I have to admit...

yes, it does seem that more attention to the aesthetics of the clock has been placed on Clock A. Clock B is clearly a piece of faggotry. The eiffle tower isn't even centred, and the numerals look like they're skewed despite having the "correct" 4.

I voted before reading the thread, so I totally skimmed right over the IIII thing. I thought IV was correct and IIII was something you did when you were keeping a tally and you drew a diagonal line through the 4 vertical ones to indicate 5.
