Literally 200 yards from my house, I heard the explosion but dismissed it as coming from the flat above mine, it was just a single loud thud.

They think it may have been caused by a teen girl gang attacking another 17 year old girl.

Maybe having guns would be safer? At least when people shoot each other they don't destroy several houses too.
