I installed SP3 on a few computers at work which are all Intel and haven't had any problems yet. I read through most of the fixes it's supposed to do and noticed we've had a history of a few of them so hopefully this takes care of that.

Try using the downloadable .exe I posted in the OP, instead.

That didn't work, still got the same error. Going to play with the registry fixes now I guess Q_Q.

This worked. Method 3 on the Microsoft site.

For your info I keep all the hentai backed up on seperate drives

only thing on C is programs, and anyway Microsoft is blaming other stuff besides amd now

I'll go for Sp3 later but atm I'm more concerned fixing IE since Firefox is memory hogging/overloading on hentai pages more then IE (wtf at 220MB firefox to load 2 pages)

Eh, they soorta do the same after 6 hours of browsing...

In relation to "size in MB browser is after 10 hours of browsing sites I do...
Smallest > largest
IE -> firefox -> safari -> opera
Opera being at around 420MB, IE being at 90ish MB
firefox got to 300MB after leaving browser open for 2 days straight (only 2 windows open each with about 12 thumbnails about 20k each)

Guess browsers jsut wnere't.. made to handle several hundred/thousand image views a day ;/

Sorry to bump this but i'm trying to install SP3 now and I get to the point where is says "Running processes after install" and it doesnt really freeze up, but it doesnt go any further. I've turned off all background programs including antivirus and left it overnight thinking it would just take a while but it still stays stuck there. Has anyone encountered this or know of a possible way to get it to finish?

At work we recently got in our batch of computers for student athletes. The drive image, for some reason, was for SP2 instead of 3...so since we were installing other crap, and updating, that was getting done too.
Out of 46 machines I think I had a couple do that. What I did was just cancel the process and restart the machine, which rolled back the service pack. Second try worked on 'em. 'course, these were also new machines, so no data to worry about.
