Snow Lily and Tarnotik

Is there some requirement necessary for Tarnotik to accept a Snow Lily and warp you to the entrance to Mine Shaft #2716? I am unable to trade to that goblin.

iirc you have to play the betting game first, and then the snow lily is used for a 2nd warp before 7 days are up

Ugh, then what's the point of getting snow lilies if you still have to play the betting game? This doesn't make sense... Why would they cost any more than 2k if you still have to win that game? Can you warp with lilies after winning the game once forever or something?

Also, if you do win the game once and do not enter the ENM, you can warp as many times as you like (paying 2k) during the conquest cycle, correct?

It costs you 10k for him to warp you to the ENM when you have the lever there's no limit on the time between when you receive the lever and when he'll warp you. You just need to have an ENM key item for mine shaft #2716. So you can either pay him 10k gil or give him a snow lily.

Nope, I used to do it all the time when I was leveling Blm on the pets right near the ENM entrance.

Did you have the ENM60 key item when given the option to warp? Can you keep the ENM60 item forever (by not doing it) and always have access to warps via gil/lilies?

From what I remember I played the gambling mini game until I won. You receive the key item for the Job Specific Solo ENM at that point. Then basically as long as you don't use that key item he should be willing to warp you for 10k or a snow lily. Unless they patched this it's been like that for a long time.

Just pay him 2716 gil

Pay him 2716g for the gambling game, then he'll warp you for 2k, not 10k. For the uncapped ENMs you can't warp though.

Tarnotik the Snow Lily goblin is a totally seperate NPC from Twinkbrix the ENM starter, and also in a totally different place. You gamble with Twinkbrix for the ENM key items, and Tarnotik is part of a quest called Return to the Depths (Bowyer ring quest). However, even though the COP mission/ENM/quest aren't related, Tarnotik makes you give up your ENM key item when you trade him the Snow Lily.

You should be able to trade Snow Lilies indefinitely as long as you dont have the shaft lever, just like you can pay Twinkbrix 2k per warp indefinitely as long as you DO have the shaft lever.

I was trying to duo with a blm friend recently and she couldn't warp with Tarnotik either, she hasn't done any CoP so I assumed you have to be on the mission at least.

That's odd I guess I hadn't used Tarnotik that much I guess I was always paying gil. What's the purpose if you have to give up your ENM item? Definitely have used Tarnotik before a few times when doing missions, I doubt I had the ENM item each time. Does it just takes away your ENM item or do you actually need it as well to be ported?

There are 2 different key items, the one you get from trading Twinkbrix the Sylvan Stone for the Bionic Bug ENM, and the one you get from gambling with him for Pulling the Strings and Automaton Assault. If you have the Bionic Bug key item, neither goblin will warp you unless you give it to them. Twinkbrix will only warp you if you have the item for the Automaton Assault/Pulling the Strings ENM, and Tarnotik won't warp you at all if you have either of the key items.

So, to get to the BC, these are the options:

60 capped ENM item = Twinkbrix warp for 2k
75 capped ENM item = You have to walk
Neither Key item = Tarnotik warp with a Snow Lily

Try trading him some Ahriman Tears. If you have done the Return to the Depths quest up to that point, he should take those as payment for a warp instead of a Snow Lily. That's the only other thing I can think of that might be causing problems.
