New salvage group looking for party setup advice

I have just recently started doing salvage (I know I'm slow) and my group seems to have the "ideal" jobs to do well. My question is really about setting up the parties to make the most efficient group possible. It is a group of 8 with the following jobs available:

    PLD COR (hume)
BRD MNK SAM NIN COR PLD RNG (hume)
    SAM NIN RNG (mithra)
MNK PLD DRK NIN BLM BRD (galka)
    MNK WAR BLU DRG (mithra)
    RDM BLM SMN (taru)
    MNK (elvaan)
    THF(TH4) WHM (mithra)

    My initial thinking was:
PT1: BRD COR RDM MNK MNK SAM
    PT2: MNK THF

My one real worry is the workload this would put on the rdm. Can the monk it PT2 handle healing himself and the thief by subbing dancer? Is there anything glaringly wrong with this? Would this work well with our goal of hitting 3-4 targeted NMs and killing the Mega Boss? Sorry for all the questions. Any feedback is appreciated.

Needs moar whm, the blu/drg's gonna have to pick a lot of the healing slack, the sam should sub dnc as well.

Similar to what residue posted, these are the basics, and their roles:

    Rdm/whm - main healer
Brd/nin(or whm) - main brd and main puller (having the next mob waiting makes or breaks a run)
    Mnk - DD/tank
    Mnk - DD/tank
    Cor/whm -Buff/DD/Cure
    Thf - DD/TH/Sac pulls/Backup puller

    Rng
Blm(/shm for sublimation so dont need refresh)

If the thf isnt well geared for damage then you can have the Rng switch to sam and have a meripo style party for the first group (or just put the blm in that party for triple refresh Q.Q). But the above setup can handle ANY NM and boss with ease. Blm is mostly for sleepga crowd control and added kill time on boss. Ranger is a great Boss addition as they are added damage out of AoE range, also need less cures during run and can DD as soon as they get a ranged cell.

Once your brd learns the route and what to pull (fast) you will fly through the zones with that setup.

Re: New salvage group looking for party setup advice

you would have a lot of trouble starting out on bosses I think. I'd try to get someone else that could play either WHM or THF if I were you, then just make sure you have 2 DDs that can tank (drk, sam, mnk), a thf, brd, rdm, then everything else is extra. Also it's a good idea when starting to not put 5th string jobs as the important members, for instance someone in my group has WAR but I've seen him play it maybe twice so I usually prefer to keep him on his mains, BLM/WHM/THF
