Preview of Adjustments for June Version Update (Part 1)

Synthesis
Our fans often describe HQ item synthesis as a fulfilling yet occasionally frustrating process. Taking such voices to heart, following lengthy deliberation, the developers have decided to add new synthesis enhancement items as the reward for guild contract quests. While these items do not allow the creation of HQ items at free will, you will receive an overall success rate bonus for synthesis.
The positive effects of these items are expected to span beyond merely improving your success rate in synthesis. The raising of synthesis skills should become that much more enjoyable an experience, and certain items should become more affordable than before.
These synthesis enhancement items are a must-have for masters and apprentices alike!

Re: Preview of Adjustments for June Version Update (Part 1)
Going to have some interesting consequences to be sure. I wonder if their going to tie HQ crystals into this somehow. Doubtful SE would actually do something as logic as tying an existing "feature" into an adjustment, but stranger things have happened.
If you've been sitting on a high value T0 in the 96-97 cap range, though, you may wanna stop trying to squeeze out that extra little bit of gil and just get rid of it for a decent amount. Sounds like it may not be worth as much in a month.
edit: in reading it more closely, I guess 96-97 caps really wouldn't matter. But I'd still get rid of those HQ's while you can...not only might more start popping up, but if they're making skilling easier, there's gonna be more competition sooner.

Re: Preview of Adjustments for June Version Update (Part 1)
Note: the french, german and japanese versions specify that whatever it is will reduces break rate, but you won't be able to HQ

Re: Preview of Adjustments for June Version Update (Part 1)
Hmm, well I honestly hope they don't make leveling a craft too much easier / faster, since I'm having fun how it is and I don't want to have to compete with a bunch of people to try to sell the items I've been skilling on.

Re: Preview of Adjustments for June Version Update (Part 1)
This kinda worries me a bit, i really hope they don't make it too easy/affordable to get a craft to 100, after spending alot of time and effort to get CC to 99.2, it will suck to see someone do it in half the effort and cost...Also, if they increase the HQ rate, considering there's a couple of "big guns" on the server with like every craft at 100, probably with other servers too, there may be a descrease in some T0's price, which will suck...
Theres' my 2 cents, back to breaking even on Mahatma Slops

I wouldn't be suprised if this tied in with the new signs or at least enhanced them.
Interesting...

Re: Preview of Adjustments for June Version Update (Part 1)
i dunno what to mak of it really, my main craft is cooking so compared to say gold or clothe leather etc .. i dont or wont really feel teh pinch if they mess with tier 0 hq's or such.. but since cooking is flooded with lots of crafters i wonder just how much for instance sushi will get screwed over if they make hq's easier to achive..... its already nigh on total loss most of teh time..some of teh fish also are almost at npc buy back prices....same for pies(just was a example)
i could easily see a possible ah meltdown what with teh mog bonanza coming up(with a lvl 5 cap..meaning more mules) reintroduction of teh anni rings messing with crafting and teh new relics , new merits also. going to get very intresting on quite a few fronts prety soon
i am looking forward to it buy yet kinda have a feeling of impending doom .... lol
i predict a huge upgrade of teh game followed by a mass d/l file which takes ages to complete and then 3 o so weeks of server maintance cuz what they implimented is fubar... as per the norm when they mess with stuff..lol

Re: Preview of Adjustments for June Version Update (Part 1)
im hoping there is some way to chose if (after synth) you want it to be HQ or NQ. For all those times youre synthing other ingredients for bigger synths (tiger stuff for dusk or darksteel for thick...). Always hated going 6/12 on darksteel when im trying to make thick for cursed.

Re: Preview of Adjustments for June Version Update (Part 1)
I personally am not very happy about this update. SE is consistantly trying to do things to make this game more reachable for everyone. I understand that and have an appreciation for thier decision, but I feel that this is also them inadvertantly spitting on players who already worked their butts off to obtain this.
For example, I am an alchemist. I use hq cursed gear as a method to make money. If SE increases the rate of HQ or makes leveling up crafting easier, its going to decrease the prices of the items I sell. As it stands now, what I was making 5 months ago and selling for 1.3-1.4M is now only going for 800k to 900k. There has been no reduction in the cost per synth I incur during this time though. If they make crafting more approachable by everyone, I could see a significant reduction in my profits, yet no change in my cost. It may be time to retire my craft >.>
Do you think I should attempt to dump my blessed+1 gear and Aristacrat's coat for my whm in hopes of them dropping in price once this new update rolls out?

Re: Preview of Adjustments for June Version Update (Part 1)
As a high level crafter I see this item as a fix to the problem of accidental HQs that mess up other synths. Synthing Leather Gloves +1 when your real goal was to use those in another synth for GP/profit won't be a problem with this item since it removes HQs. I'm sure it will also help lower level crafters with leveling up crafts with minimal loss, but as a level 100 crafter I'm just looking for a way to make this useful to veterans.
