a long time ago this was rumored to increase drain/aspir potency, but it was either proved to be untrue or dismissed as it wasnt as good as a dark staff. It can't be as shitty as it is considering how rare it is and what drops it.

And adding jobs to joke items? Why not? Also, Stumbling Sandals follows the sandals template for jobs allowed, so they probably just updated the template.
http://www.ffxiah.com/item.php?id=13013&sid=1 I remember people buying this and trying to get fake Ohat for maat fight.
I want to test that mantle out. I'm gonna camp one later and maybe test it out in ballista with a friend.
I think SE were just pulling your leg.
isnt there some bcnm or enm or something that reverses your stat bonus on equipment?
i looked around a bit but cant find it
We got Hushed Daggers from an assault all the time. The ensilence from the dagger wore off on me after a few seconds, I don't remember exactly, but I think it was less than 5 seconds. Definitely less than 10 seconds. I didn't actually hit anything with it though, because I sold them in town to an NPC anyway, so I can't tell you about that part.Seito - Enchantment: Ensilence - As strong as it sounds?
Lamia harp - http://www.ffxiah.com/item.php?id=17356&sid=5
lv. 44 and no stats, iirc its a reward from quite a tough series of quests, would make sense if there was some hidden effect.
can't get my hands on them on phoenix because 'someone' is buying them all to npc for 500g profit ><
edit: quests aren't tough, just one of them is annoying due to limited time to complete the quest, nightime, fullmoon etc

Are you guys sure about the Pahluwan Khazagand thing?
I remember reading a lot of people complaining about its effect be missing a lot of time ago, when the item was just released.
Then I remember reading at least 2 different people doing tests, and reporting an approximate (can't remember exactely) increase of 2% in critical hits (I'm talking about melee hits).
So exactely when it were all these further tests proved wrong? Who claimed it to be wrong? Is it a trustable source? Or do we have to expect someone else coming up 3 months from now claiming some other different results and changing cards on the table once again?
Lamia Harp does have a hidden effect; Your songs will cover more ground while using the harp as the area it covers is greater than regular harps.
(This is from what I've seen I'm not totaly 100% sure but it does seem that way to me.)
Has anyone ever tested if Hanzo Tekko have some sort of hidden effect while under the effect of fire weather?

Since its dropped from a NM Eruca, and they tend to go apeshit during fire weather..
As I recall, I was fucking around with one of my bards getting ready for a Kirin burn and they kept hitting me with Ballad from really far away.Originally Posted by Antithesis G
We got started talking about it, and tested it some. There was a little confusion because apparently ballad I and II have slightly different ranges, but the greatest reach was with the Lamia by a few steps.

fascinating. maybe i'll see about completing those quests this weekend and obtaining one. if this is true, that would be hugely effective for non-relic brds ballading mage parties.
Area on harp songs is some factor of song level vs string skill. If you have 0 string skill you get the standard 10 unit range as you would with a horn.
Hachiman Domaru
Obviously through popularity, the best Samurai body. We must discover the secret which hundreds know!

I Know i can think of a few items that could have hidden effects... (Almost all of these are already mentioned, though im just listing all im curiouos about)
Masamune - Ash dragon drop, useless ass Great katana. Add:Water Damage, HP-5%... Makes no Sense.
Spelunker's hat - Spelunker is someone who cave Dives, is it possible that it could have a hidden effect inside Dungeons.
Doll Gizmo - Not an Equipable item... but its annoying, and should have been a damn question along with Cactaur needles/Nidhogg Scales.
Stumbling Sandles - Was mentioned, Has to have a reason for it, DEX-10 and AGI-10, thats not funny.
Hayabusa - Seriously... Subtle Blow +1, there has to be a hidden effect, even the +1's DoT is garbage.
Lamia Harpe - Always thought this might enhance Maiden's Vireilli, though according to here it may increase song range
Power Staff - Drops from a Goblin, Garbage DMG/Delay, even for a staff. Add effect: Raises STR, seems rather useless.
Kard - The daggers model never dissapears during Spells or Ranged Attack, and its only stat is CHR+5, kinda good for DE, or maybe a BRD, but no realistic uses.
Masamune is the one im REALLY curious about, the masamune is Sephiroth's Sword in FF7, And is regarded as a amazingly powerful weapon... yet in FFXI its Crappy DMG/Delay, HP-5%, and Water Damage.
