Amazing items NOT crafted lately!

Having done literally thousands and thousands of desynths, I believe that the numbers differ greatly. I even believe that *gasp* day of the week can have an effect on desynthesis. I'd like to see what kind of trials have been done to determine these numbers.

These figures were based on about 500ish desynths of mythril earrings I did back in 2005 sometime. I seriously doubt I still have the paper with all the tallies hanging around.

Desynth is about 33% success, 33% fail-no-loss and 33% fail-with-loss (leading to ~3 lightning crystals and 2 items per successful desynth)

Ok well I asked this in the sticky at the top because I really didn't want to make a new thread about it, but how exactly do HQ work for desynths?

Other than "higher than normal", I dunno the exact figures on that.

Says the guy that bases his numbers on 500 synths. That is not a large enough sample size, you're practically being superstitious yourself.

Says the guy that thinks natural skill of 100 is different for break rate on a lv100 item than 99+1...even though break rates everywhere else in the crafting curve are clearly based on enhanced skill?

500 synths is statistically certainly enough to be confident the desynthesis success rate does not "differ greatly" from the numbers I cited. But what do I know, you've leveled 4 crafts to 100!
