    Re: Ghost caught on tape?

Because ghosts tend to haunt in the dark and it's hard to see in the dark, so they stumble around and occasionally run into books and chairs. Then they moan when they stub their toe.
    Makes sense to me.

Gravity is proof of ghosts. Jesus told me so.

Are they just dumb ghosts, their brain wouldn't exist anymore so what is letting them do things that would required a small form of intelligence. How are their non physical properties lifting up physical objects, how did they get this amazing gift to do that?

I mentioned James Randi earlier but he offers 1million dollars to demonstrate anything paranormal and for over 40 years now no one has won that money. Under controlled circumstances and viewed by people who don't jump to conclusions everything paranormal has failed to be true.

That clears up a lot of questions, but how come they don't just pass through those objects?

But can Jesus tell us if the cat is dead or alive?

Because ghosts become solid in the dark.

In dim light, they're just solid enough to move a chair while passing through it.

    Re: Ghost caught on tape?

I've met a lot of people that believe in ghosts.

I've never met a single person that believed in ghosts and didn't really WANT to believe in ghosts because they liked the idea. Some people really want some notion of supernatural- they find that it fills a need within them (for any number of reasons). As such, they will always interpret anything that is not immediately explainable by normal means to be supernatural- that cold draft couldn't be bad sealant, it must be a ghost. That light flickering can't be horrible wiring, it's a ghost. That book is floating because of a ghost not a hoax.

Do you believe in ghosts? Or are you TRYING to believe in ghosts? There is a difference.

I think some people like to think they know something, some higher truth, that others don't. Kinda how conspiracy theories are popular, it feels good to think you know what is really going on.

Yea, perhaps. What I'm more getting at though is how you can either see compelling evidence of something, consider it objectively, then make a decision on the balance of all information out there, OR you can make your decision first, then pick out compelling evidence that supports it. I've never met a person that believes strongly in ghosts to arrive at their belief through the first method.

Im not a religious person, but I like the "idea" of ghosts and reading about hauntings. I havent quite worked out the who or why's about it, but I think its fascinating!

    Re: Ghost caught on tape?

Think of it in terms of religion. There's a lot of people who don't believe in religion because it makes them feel better. There's plenty of people who would really rather their religion didn't exist, and that the things they teach weren't true, because their religion scares them and it would make them feel better to believe it were all lies... but they believe anyway.

Think of religions that advocate human sacrifice, or grueling rituals or unpleasant lifestyle changes, or promises of a fiery hell in the afterlife and an eternity of torture. I'm sure there are some true believers out there who think their god is a real dick, don't agree with the values taught by the religion, and are afraid of the torment promised them without letting it control their rational thinking (i.e. don't allow the church to control them with fear, while still believing and being afraid).

Why they believe, I don't know, but they have their reasons for believing in something that they don't want to believe in and does not make them feel better, and does not manipulate their lifestyles through fear (though it tries).
