    Really strange car trouble

OK, so I have never heard of this problem before, and I was hoping maybe one of you would have!
I have one of those iPod cassette connectors for your car
And just a little bit ago it stopped working... sort of.
I can play music, but it's very low, and only follows the iPod volume, not the car's.
I can turn the power off, and the music will still play.
I can take the cassette out, and the music will still play, as long as it is plugged into the iPod... With the iPod not plugged into the cassette it will not play.
And, it will even play with the car turned off and keys out.

I don't know what to do... So I was hopping that one of you might be able to help me!
This is seriously one of the strangest things I've ever encountered with a car...
So, if you've heard of it before, please help me! Thanks!

    Re: Really strange car trouble

So is the iPod itself playing when it's powered off? Or is it when the car is turned off the music is playing?

A couple of things you said are confusing, but my guess from what you said would probably be a bad cassette that you're using or the tape deck itself could be going bad.

The stereo could have some short of buffer, unless it also plays the next song when you advance it on the ipod, in which case it would be amazing and worth a couple thousand dollars >.>

    Re: Really strange car trouble

Sorry, the iPod needs to be on, it is working perfectly fine. But, if it is plugged into the cassette it will play just like it would from headphones, only coming out of my Car's speakers. And this is with NOTHING plugged into my car (it is totally off).
    idk what to do....
But it all the sudden started doing it, and it's just weird. lol...

And yes, I can pause, change songs, etc. It will follow everything I'm doing. It acts exactly like the volume would come out of headphones.

^ and that and this \/

Ok, now I'm confused, is the cassette inside the stereo or it will play if you put the cassette AND the ipod in your backpack?

What the fuck, this is breaking the laws of physics.

Take EVERYTHING out see what happens when you climb out of the car and walk away.

    What do you mean?

And no, for future question, the headphones are not plugged into my iPod. I have sat in my car trying to mess with it, and the volume is coming out of my car.

Also, strangely, I can have the radio and the iPod playing at the same time, coming out the same speakers.

Is it even possible to have an FM transmitter on an iPod?

And, it will play if it's in my backpack. It doesn't need to be touching anything for it to do this... It's just very strange.

There has to be some sort of aftermarket bullshit at work here. Your car is like Jesus, except rather than turning water into wine, it makes music from nothing. @_@

Is it an iPod touch, maybe the wireless signals are fucked up, or the cassette wire is acting like an antenna.
