Blindness

I read the book a long time ago, and now the movie is coming out soon. Anyone else looking forward to it?

It takes place in a country where a contagious disease is making people go blind. The story is about the resulting effects on individuals throughout the society. There is one woman who remains unaffected. She has to witness all the corruption of power and squalor that unfolds, and eventually has to protect herself and her friends from those people.

Superficially it's similar to Omega Man, or maybe 28 Days Later (without the zombies). If it's like the book though it should be worth seeing.

Decent plot, shabby directing, and doesn't look like the acting will hold up honestly(the main character obviously). I like these types of movies that throw in psycological/sociological mindgames with the plots, but it seems alot of them don't deliver too well in the end. Although, on a similar note as this type of movie, Children of Men was well done in delivering convincing emotion and the directing was top-notch.

I'll be willing to give it a second chance on viewing another trailer I guess.

It seemed like they showed just enough to get the premise across. I didn't recognize anything that looked like it was from the later parts of the story. Which is fine with me. It's a sign of a poor movie when you get everything and anything worth seeing right in the trailer.

I read the book a long while ago, and really enjoyed it. I had hour-long arguments with classmates over what happens in the end, good stuff.

If you haven't read the book, it's worth reading.
