As long as he doesn't have "slightly-open anus" mouth, I don't care what he does.

Can't stand watching red sox games in the 9th. Gross.

Where are all those people defending Papelbon again? Guy is clearly a douche.

Anyway. Yanks on a 6 game win streak, right back in the middle of the race going into Fenway for the first of some big games with the Red Sox.

Phillies come from down 3 in the 9th inning to destroy the Met bullpen and negate a strong 8 innings from Johan Santana..

Carlos Quintin continues to be amazing for the White Sox, another big HR for him..

Angels continue to run away with the AL west with the best record in the majors. K-Rod already has 41 saves, well on his way to breaking the record..

But I think the best race may come down to the Cubs/Brewers/Cards. 3 good teams, fighting for 2 spots. It'll be the same way in the AL east, but I don't know if the Rays are going to stay up there. Both should be pretty entertaining though. And man does CC love batting in the NL. He's going to get a huge contract in the off season.

I was at the last two games of the brewers sweeping the giants - in each game of that series the brewers pitcher (CC, Sheets, Parra) had a hit and either an RBI or run scored - including two doubles. Parra also crushed another one to the right field wall but the giants' outfielder made a good over the shoulder catch on it.

CC on the hill again at the Cardinals right now, going for 7th win in a row and moving to a half-game behind the Cubs.

I'm pretty sure anyone outside of NYC got over that situation a week ago.

He'll have a set back before Saturday. Just watch. Plus Hudson with elbow problems now, and Chipper probably out for the Phillies series. Wave bye bye to Teixeira within uh.. I'm gonna say by next Friday.

It makes it easier to laugh at him considering he hasn't done so hot against us.

Joba vs Beckett tomorrow, zomg. A sweep and we take control of second place, but we have Ponson starting on Sunday Too bad both the Rays and Sox played two minor league teams this week.

    ..and here's more lolManny

During a sixth-inning pitching change in a game against the Twins, Manny Ramirez climbed into the Green Monster and could be seen talking on a cell phone as Javier Lopez entered for Josh Beckett

Uh.. thanks for showing us something that happened 15 days ago? lol, I mean.. that's ancient in terms of "Manny being Manny"

Also, I find it sort of funny you say "two minor league teams" even though the Yankees were 3-4 against the Royals. Then again, you were 6-0 against the Mariners (all 6 played at home), so eh. =p

I believe he was implying the A's (who the Yanks just swept and are 5-1 against on the season) not the Royals. Though the A's do have pitching, their offense is pretty horrid. And I think everyone agrees that the Mariners are just terrible from every standpoint. Hell, they have Vidro, who is OPSing .584. FIVE EIGHTY FOUR! AS A DH! IT'S A CRIME AGAINST BASEBALL! /endrant

Ah, I thought you meant the Royals for the Rays, who they play next up. >.> Which you guys have a losing record against...somehow. Mariners are a AAA team except for King Felix and Ichiro.

Huh? I made a post about him making a calling from inside the Green Monster a page or so back, only now did I see the pic.

Yea, but the Royals offense isn't absolutely horrendously horrible. Shit gets rough when Nintendo steps in and demands the Mariners to lock up Jojimah (Japanese factor, etc; they're claiming to want Igawa) for 4 years when they had a monster (Clement) waiting in the minors.

Edit: if Vidro wasn't bad enough, you can look no further than Miguel Cairo batting cleanup. It's insane that their payroll is over 100mil.

Yeah, I suppose so, was just saying.

Eh, the Royals are still pretty darned bad, and usually bad every year. That's all I meant. It's like how you guys were bad against the "Devil" Rays last year when they were so bad. Sorry, was just taking a quick shot at the Yanks.

I shouldn't be making fun of the M's, they've done wonders for us this year.

    Hahaha. Too fucking funny.

Multiple sites reporting that the Yankees have acquired Xavier Nady and Damaso Marte from the Pirates for 4 prospects. Ross Ohlendorf, Jose Tabatta (19 yr old hitter) Phil Cook (LHP) and another to be named.

Great trade for the Yankees IMO. They get 2 great players for some B prospects while holding onto the likes of Austin Jackson, Alan Horne, Hughes, Kennedy and Cabrera.

Marte is gonna make an already lethal bullpen that much better. I'm in love.

The fuck? Other than a closer, the Yankees bullpen is dogshit. They lack a real setup guy for Mariano in the late innings if a pitcher weren't able to go deep. Farnsworth certainly isn't someone to count on. Marte will be a good addition to IMPROVE that, but making an already lethal bullpen that much better? Please.

Still a good deal to get Nady.

You clearly haven't seen any yankee games over the last month. Farnsworth hasn't given up a hit over his last 9 appearances. The team ERA of the bullpen is 1.79 since June 3rd. Veras has given up 2 runs in his last 8 appearances. Mariano has no blown saves still.

Most importantly, the bullpen is 48-1 when leading after 7 innings. The one loss there is Joba's.

The Yankee bullpen was terrible to begin with, but they've been very hot recently. Go look up the stats in the last month+, it's all true.
