Ah, alright. I just remember laughing really hard.

Also, really cool today that Bay went yard, and Manny went yard.

The big name acquired around the deadline have ALL performed.

-Harden and Sabathia have been insane.

-Bay, Ramirez, Nady have each hit homers (Nady with 2 and a few doubles)
-Griffey got off to a good start.
-Marte had one shitty outing and a nice inning last night along with the Ortiz K which tops everything (well no, but yea)
-Hell, even LaTroy Hawkins pitched to three batters and got 2K's.

    Probably forgetting another.

Pudge has been a disappointment a bit He was clearly out of sync with Pettite (but who can blame him, having 24 hours to learn a pitching staff) and he's gotten 1 hit and had a rally killing DP. And of course today Molina goes 3/3 with a HR... go figure

The Phillies are 49-0 when leading after eight innings. Pretty amazing in my opinion.

This is such a stupid and misleading stat. The Giants are 39-0 with a lead going into the 9th. Twins and Yankees are both 53-0. The Nationals are 32-1. Rangers are 48-1. Royals are 46-1. Only one team in MLB has more than 4 losses when up at the end of eight, and that's the Mariners (34-5). It's not that amazing to have a great record when leading going into the 9th inning when the league as a whole is 1413-66 in that situation.

    Nady: 3-4 2B, HR, 5RBI.

3 homers already, he's been stupid good.

4-5 6RBI in the biggest clusterfuck of a baseball game I've witnessed since the KC/Pettitte getting it up the ass game.

So far, Manny and Bay seem to like their new teams. Bay had an "eh" day with 1-4 and a run scored, but Manny is now 3-3, HR, 3 RBI.

It was nice to see Francisco Liriano come back and pitch well. God I hope he can keep it up.

Been loving Bay (both as a fantasy owner & sox fan) since the trade- can't believe that one he hit last night that just rolled along the wall & eventually knocked back in the park.

Also like that the twins finally called up Liriano, who I had stashed on my bench the entire season... too bad I didn't have the nuts to start him his first start back. Especially nice if I'm going to need to replace Joba's starts for any significant length of time.

I wonder how Joba's injury will effect them. Think they'll go out and look for someone? I don't like their chances with Pettite, Moose, and Ponson.

I too have been reaping the benefits of Bay in Fantasy. Been awesome.

If the Yankees lose Joba they're finished. There's no pitchers out there worth getting, and its becoming too late in the season anyway. The team is far too inconsistent offensively, A-rod is having his worst year ever in terms of clutch hitting, injuries have devastated the team in general, and the pitching staff is in shambles right now. If they don't go 500 on this road trip I think it's all over and they'll probably just try to get things in order for 2009 and the opening of the new stadium.

It's not like the Yankees (or anyone else for that matter) are going to beat the Angels in the playoffs this year. That team is an unstoppable force this year.

Woah. You're agreeing with me about the Yankees. Holy poop. xD

I agree wholeheartedly with this too. The Braves have a similar scenario (as I'm sure other teams do). Their pitching staff is in shambles. If you look at their starting rotation at opening day (Smoltz, Hudson, Glavine, Jurrjens, lolHampton), and then looked now (Jurrjens and Hampton are the only ones left, with a surprise in Jorge Campillo) it's ridiculous. Their starting line-up is in shambles too. It's crazy how injuries have plagued teams as of late this year.

Angels are beastly. They lost last night, and I was like "Holy crap. They lost."

Yeah, I was keeping the faith after they played well out of the break against good teams, but then they lay an egg against the Orioles, Angels, and now Texas, which they couldn't afford to do. I think Joe has worn out his welcome too. But yeah, if you look at the starting rotation for the Yankees this year, and their estimated/actual wins:

    Wang (17-20) (8 )
    Pettite (15-16) (12)
    Mussina (10) (14)
    Hughes (13-14) (0)
    Kennedy (10-12) (0)

And you can see the problem right away. That combined with what has just been a bad offense at times (I dont give them a pass even with the loss of Posada and Matsui) and you have real questions about the team. Not to mention they are now chasing the Twins, Rays and Red Sox instead of just the Red Sox, and it all adds up to no playoffs to me.

And what do you mean by that? I was just bringing up the Joba problems. =p Should we be talking about the White Sox?

Grats for hammering Joel Zumaya last night. You got to the Detroit Tigers' bullpen. Doing that is like someone bragging about banging a prostitute.
