    Yeah. Cards pitching just isn't that scary to me. If this was the Carpenter of old, then maybe... but not this year with him coming off of that surgery. Sabathia and Sheets scare me a lot.

    You're right Viq. MLB totally didn't get the schedule right this year.

    Speaking of CC, complete game 11 strikeout 1-hitter (infield single to pitcher) today.

    Yeah, 9-0 on the Brewers in 11 starts. 1.43 ERA. He's fucking insane.

    He should've gotten it. He made the barehanded catch on a semi-soft line-drive, so why couldn't he pick the ball up, spin, and throw the runner out especially when he was only halfway down the baseline? It was total bull to be honest. I hope they reverse it.

    Yeah the brewer are sending a replay DVD to the MLB offices to have it reviewed, I do believe he deserves it, really hard to tell.

    I agree with Yost. The scorer at the game judged the "hit" too quickly too imo. He also said Sabathia wouldn't have made the play, but LaRoache was only like.. 40 feet down the line. Sabathia could've gloved it and threw him out.

    Ugh. Sorry for the double, but wanted to let anyone know in the MLB thread that the people dropped by NoA are all fair game. He decided he didn't feel like checking anymore, so he dumped his team so others could get the good players that he wasn't really using. I made a grab at a few, but wanted to let you guys know that it wasn't my idea. D:

    I stopped checking the FBL around the all-star break. Rotisserie just isn't as fun.

    The day after that game C.C. was on Mike and Mike and the guy was just so humble and nonchalant about being robbed by a sandy vag, that it made me angry for him. I'm forming a posse as we speak to hunt that fucker down. If anyone wants to join all you need is a torch, pitchfork, or any kind of stabbing instrument.

    That play shouldn't be counted a hit, the ball totally went off of his hand. E1 imo

    so can we just hand cliff lee the AL cy young award at this point and be done with it? It is ridiculous what him and Lincecum have managed to do with teams sucking it up (though the Indians not as bad) this year.

    Two players both hit for the Cycle on the same day? That's remarkable, the first time that has happened in 88 years.

    Although, it seems to me that hitting for the cycle is about the most over-rated stat in baseball. It's an interesting footnote, but it's just a 4-hit game (which is impressive, but far more common) where the hits fell a certain way. Give me a three homer game, or a perfect game or no-hitter anytime over someone hitting for the cycle.

    That really pisses me off when people do that. Don't feel like finishing the season? No problem, just don't do anything. But dropping everyone actually screws up the league for those who are still actively playing.

    Agreed. Did you go after any of those players? If you didn't, I won't either. I'll cancel the few I put waivers on and we can just play it out with the guys we have. I don't mind. It's up to you. I don't want to seem like having an unfair advantage or something. D: Again, I apologize for him doing that. He was just pissed off at me for something to do with a fantasy football league, and "doesn't want to do fantasy anymore" ._.

    I did, and there's at least one other person still actively playing, so they probably did too. If we don't claim, someone else very well may, which would screw things up worse. Plus, the way I've been streaming starters trying to pick up W's and keep ahead of you in K's, I would probably end up picking up a couple of those starters anyway, at least for spot starts. Just place a waiver claim on what you want and it'll work out in the end; that's really the fairest way at this point.

    I couldn't possibly disagree with this more. Maybe I'm reading it wrong, but it sounds like you're saying a cycle is just a fluky 4-hit game. No-hitters/perfect games are nearly just as fluky. For every dominant pitcher with no-hitters (Ryan, Koufax, etc.) there are no-hitters from out of nowhere (Sanchez, Buccholz, Nomo, Burnett (extra aside: Didn't Burnett walk 9 guys in his no-hitter?)). I don't see how one extremely uncommon, often random occurrence can be impressive while another nearly equally uncommon and equally random occurrence is merely a footnote. In my mind, they're all very impressive.

    EDIT: Boy, those quote tags sure can be difficult ;_;
