If the Twins don't pull something out of their ass and sweep the Sox to get back into it, then I'll definitely be rooting for the Rays.

Even if the Twins don't pull something off and make the playoffs, I'm happy with the season. They weren't given much chance when the season started, even by homer MN sportswriters and fans. At least the loss of Santana and Hunter wasn't the end of the world like so many people made it out to be!

Sadly, I think one of the best match ups in the playoffs will happen in the short first round. Red Sox and Angels both have great rotations for the playoffs. How fun is it going to be to watch Beckett vs. Lackey, Lester vs. Saunders, and Matsuzaka vs. Santana all in a row?

I like watching him run when he actually scores from second on a single to center field, instead of getting thrown out at home

I gotta say I love my Cubs and really think this is their year, but I can't stand that damn Go Cubs, Go song....lol. It's just way too cheesy....the one that Eddie Vedder from Pearl Jam recorded is much better. Oddly enough not a lot of people even know about it, I just heard it the other day as a matter of fact after a friend pointed it out to me. Anyway, hell yea, Cubs 08 nl central champs!!!

I heard they were cutting down on the foul territory, but holy shit. That place is going to be the anti-Oakland.

Pregame ceremonies for the Yankee game tonight were pretty epic. Bernie's number didn't get retired, but supposedly they have something in store for after the game.

Oakland, where foul balls go to die. Seriously, if it wasn't for the fact we can't sell out the damn stadium on a semi regular basis for playoff games, i'd have wished for them to add a few more rows in. You can practically hear the batters cry when they foul out to the first or third basemen now on a weekday day game it's so empty.

Phillies averaging 42,277 out of our sell out 44,700+. Not too shabby...I swear Philadelphia loves its sports teams regardless of how well they play. Phillies were AWEFUL the first year Citizens Bank opened up and they averaged like 42,000 that year.

All that foul territory does wonders for their mediocre pitchers and Beane in turn ships them away for a good haul (Blanton comes to mind) Hudson and Mulder were different pitchers at home and on the road.

Even after dropping 2/3 to my Braves, my Phillies still have a 1.5 lead thanks to the AMAZING bullpen of the Mets.

I retract my comment about the brewers, they look like they'll squeek it out.

    So...

    HOW BOUT THEM BREWERS?

Who needs CC (just kidding CC we really need you seriously keep being awesome) when you can trot out shitty Jeff Suppan to pitch 5 innings of 1-run ball, and have Seth McClung to pitch the last 4 of 1-HIT ball, vs. the best offensive team in the league, who is starting their best pitcher? (5-1 victory over the cubs, combined with 6-1 loss by mets = brewers back up 1 game on the wild card)

We don't need a bullpen, we have two starters! (wtf)

Also, Yovani Gallardo came back yesterday for the first time since his knee injury and pitched 4 innings of 1-run ball, 7 Ks in the sweep of the Pirates. I hope he ramps up fast, we may need him in the playoffs. Fuck yeah Dale Sveum.

(now just don't fuck it up...Sheets tomorrow, CC Sunday...vs. Lilly and Marshall)

Hopefully the fish will stay strong and just take the Mets out completely.
