Just wow, is all I have to say once again doesnt matter what you do in regular season.

Maybe they should just not allow K-Rod to pitch in game 2 of the ALDS anymore. Two straight years he's lost that game by giving up a bomb in the 9th. Beckett pitching at home in game 3 might as well be a lock. GG Angels, thanks for making these two games exciting.
Well, let's be realistic-they did take 8 of 9 from us. Could they beat Beckett? Sure. Unlikely, but certainly possible, especially if they're sandbagging us on his oblique. But to beat Beckett AND THEN Lester AND THEN win a 3rd time? Well... good luck. Though for the record, if they manage to get to game 5, they've definitely earned it.
It shows one of K-Rods weaknesses -- he has issues performing with pressure. Almost all of his 60 saves were 1 inning only mop ups, sure he had some pressure, but not like the playoffs or even having to come in with 2 on and clean up the 8th. They sheltered him to much and padded his stats... they are done!
Let's be even more realistic and look at how 6 of those 9 games where played in the week and a half prior to the trade deadline. The team was a wreck at that time, and was losing to everyone, thanks in large part to how out of hand the Manny situation had gotten. Take the other 3 games in their season series, and look at some of the starters. David Pauley? Really? The season series means nothing
Interestingly, while K-Rod has 21 more saves than Pap, they have near identical stats in IP, hits, runs, hrs, and strikeouts (very slight edge to K-Rod). Pap however has 26 FEWER walks, a lower WHIP, and 2 fewer blown saves.
I'm not saying Pap's better, but... one of them has a 0.00 ERA lifetime in the postseason. I'll let you figure out who.
I can't argue with that at all. The fact that they still made the postseason this year with all the injuries they had, having Colon, Masterson, Pauley, Wakefield, Byrd, and a few other guys like the other knuckleballer start for them in the 4 & 5 rotation slot, and Still won only 1 fewer games than they won last year; that speaks very strongly to how deep, and ultimately how good, this team is. I'd still prefer to have seen them take at least one of the 2 late season series against the Rays; but it's really hard to complain when your team looks like it's going to make the ALCS 2 years in a row.
Heh ill say it, Pap is better, no hiding it... At one point, when K-Rod was around like 35-38 saves, he didnt have a single outing that was longer than 1 inning, they only brought him in for the 9th... sure that is fine if you can do it, but Pap will come in and get the middle of the order out in the 8th and save it if need... Mariano will too... and I cant wait til the Angels are officially done, watching K-Rod torque the ball makes ME need Tommy John surgery!
Do you remember the 2007 All Star game, where K-Rod couldn't get an out to save his life and the AL barely won? As crazy hard to hit as that curve of his is, if he isn't on, he can't get it over for a strike. Which means people sit on the fastball. Credit to him for getting the changeup working this year, which is probably the biggest reason he was so effective this year.
But yeah, unless you have the ability to come in for a 4, 5, or even 6 out save in a big game, it's hard to be put in the same category as Mariano-as much as I do hate seeing him come in, you are required to give credit where it's due in this case. Pap's no Mariano-let me be clear about that (and NYC certainly was during the All Star game this year!)-but he's certainly made a name for himself.
maybe next year....?
why god why
Believe me, nobody wants the Cubs to pull off a comeback more than Boston fans right now.
I want the Dodgers to make it to the World Series if the Sox get there too. I'd bet at least one guy hops onto the field to try and take a shot at Manny.
The rays are just too good, if boston finishes off the angels, I think the rays will take them in 6, their a very good team. I still stand by my picks philly and rays in the series.
And the cubs are done.
AFK, killing self.

Hey, the Cubs lost. Never would've thought it.
Well, I'm happy to see Torre get back to a Championship Series. If it's the Phillies, it'll be a great series. If it's the Brewers somehow, it'll probably be a sweep or 5 game series.
On the AL side of things, I expect the Red Sox to finish things up tomorrow night. I want to see a Rays/Red Sox ALCS and a Dodgers/Rays World Series, even though the Red Sox seeing Torre in the World Series with Manny would be made of lol.
lmao @ the flubs
not entitled to shit
nice series Soriano, haha
