Now if Beckett can somehow get back to his normal 95mph fastball instead of his BP worthy 89/90, Rays could be in big trouble!

Also, rumors that the Padres have put Jake Peavy on the trading block. Front runners to get him right now are the Braves and Yankees. Lot of people feel that the Yankees will go after him hard since it's unlikely they'll be able to land Sabathia.

Dunno how I feel about Peavy, his stats are great but he's also been pitching in the worst division in baseball. Record doesn't mean anything since his team is terrible, but a 1.18 Whip and a 2.85 ERA are pretty nice even if they have to be adjusted a bit if he comes to AL or NL east. I hope the Yanks land him.

Yeah, I heard that too, but he's looking to be on a contending team. There aren't too many who I think would make the deal. Dodgers might but they like their young talent, the Mets don't have enough prospects IMO, and Atlanta is the only one who seems able to put together a solid package from the NL side. But yeah, I don't know how he feels about coming to NY either. But still, why NL only? Does he think he's CC and likes to hit or something?

This morning ESPN's saying five teams are interested in Peavy; Atlanta, St. Louis, Houston, the Dodgers and the Cubs. All NL teams, no surprise there, if I was a pitcher I would prefer the NL, considering you face the pitcher's spot rather than a DH, and you avoid the monster lineups of the Red Sox, Yankees, Tigers, Rangers, etc.

I doubt the Cubs have any serious offers out there, but just thinking about Zambrano, Harden and Peavy in a rotation... delicious.

Im a big braves fan, always have been, but I doubt we'll ever have a solid team like we did in the 90's because our owners refuse to pay for talent, everytime we get a good player and its time to pay them, always let them go. Texierz, Furcal, Andrew Jones etc see it happen every year, im suprised chipper jones stayed with us this long, but players like mc ann and francouer prob wont stay with us past their contracts and its sad.

Honestly, Andrew wasn't doing anything for the team, and when you have young guys like Jordan Schaefer coming up, I would have gone the same direction. Tex, kinda hard to keep a guy like that, but I feel that him and Chipper made the best 3-4 in the league.

I hope to god they give McCann whatever he wants, but I'm not entirely sold on Francouer. He's soooooooo unreliable at the plate, but he's incredible in right. I wish he'd get some serious help on his patience and plate discipline.

Andrew was one the best defensive centers playing the game, he had a couple off years, but prior was hitting 40-50 and knocking in 125, dunno why he dropped so badly.
