RX8's are heavy and slow, denied. Too much extra shit cosmetically too.

but the interior is so nice! http://img210.imageshack.us/img210/5...nconsolbl6.jpg
Mazda RX8 does not get good gas mileage for what it is. Compared to say, the car I suggested (BMW 128i/135i), the 135i gets better gas mileage (17city/25hwy), while the RX8 gets 16city/22hwy. And if you wanted to get the cheaper 128i (which btw has 230hp just like the rx8), that has 18city/28hwy for the advertised gas mileage. Lexus IS350 and Honda S2000 also gets 18/25, the Evo X has shitty gas mileage just like the RX8 with 16/22. Don't get me wrong, I think the RX8 is a nice car, but it pales compared to other suggestions in this thread. If it were me trying to get a car, it'd be between the BMW, the Lexus, and the S2K with a more than slight lean towards the BMW since it has a nice level of both luxury and sportiness. I'd go for the S2K if i wanted a straight sports car, and Lexus for luxury. I rule out the Evo because the ride would probably be harsh on people who aren't used to it, but it is a very VERY good car (the Evo X has softened up a little bit due to adding more amenities, but the upgrade potential from chipping and what not is MILES ahead of the previous generation due to MIVEC on both intake and exhaust cams now).
Its a Skyline you dont have to import.
Exactly.

Me either. lol
I think it's about damned time.
If theres one car Ive always wanted it was a Skyline GT-R. I liked the 34 a lot, but knew I could never get a hold of one. If they keep going with this GT-R thing here I'll be super happy. I may be able to pick one up some day.
Same here, I currently drive a 2005 Dodge SRT-4 and while I love it to death I would drop it in a heart beat to get my hands on the GT-R.
BMW 335i twin turbo, probably around the same price as the ones youve choosen. You spend a couple hundred bucks and put an offical BMW chip in the engine that will increase the horsepower by 75 too.
Even though I only drive about 6-10 miles per day, what's the most gas efficient luxury car (specifically convertibles, but any extraordinary gas mileage on a luxury car is fine to mention)?
My friend says she gets 50 MPG highway on her TT, although I think TT is a little small for me.
Uhhh, I don't think that's right unless she managed to pick up one of the new Audi TT TDI (diesel) models, which I believe isn't even out in the US yet. The 2008/2009 Audi TT's get up to 30mpg if I remember right (used to work for an Audi dealership).
Yeah gonna call BS on 50mpg on a TT.
I know my parents get 26city/34highway in their 06 Sebring convertible and they are up to 60k mile on it too. But it does have a leak around the rear wing windows. Most companies only make the more high performance cars into the convertible so most(not all) will get around the 25mpg or less highway from what I have seen.
50MPG highway is BS. The Golf TDI my mom used to have got around that... A TT is essentially a gussied up GTI, which certainly gets lower mileage than a TDI. (Audi's site say the average mileage on a 2008 is 26MPG).
I can't think of a luxury sedan offhand that isn't in the low/mid 20s for mileage, at best. Convertibles will be lower than hardtop versions as they're heavier. Even a Miata or Z4 aren't rated for over 30 highway...
Speaking of VWs though, could consider an Eos. Convertible hardtop (also available on Miatas now), starts at around $29k, so you could easily afford a brand new one.
Do not go for a Lotus Elise if you're over 6' tall or weigh over 210lbs. I went to the autoshow last year and they had a few Elises to get inside, and i could barely fit in the car because i fit that damn criteria. My knees literally hit the steering wheel while i sat down and my thighs were hitting the shifter. Beautiful car, but you have to seriously be the size of a jockey or something to just get in one of those.

how can you say no to this car... go to the used benz lot now! there's a lower model slk280 but it's got a a weaker engine and ugly 16s.
