Can I have my Part 3?
I like the Nomad Moogle addition, but like everyone else said, they shoulda been there from the start. Also, I'm going to stick with light luggage and the OFFICIAL WINDOWER and not use SE's WINDOWED MODE as the Dynamis auto-lotting is priceless for me Q_Q.
...but...but...you've already finished Mjollnir what possibly could you...no....not...cllllaaauuusttrrrrrumm????????? Although yea I doubt this will actually change people from using the OFFICIAL WINDOWER <3 Izzy.Originally Posted by Izzy
haha, I like to not have to camp the treasure pool to make sure all the currency gets lotted/sorted for distribution at the end of the run.Originally Posted by Octavious
Adding Moogles to Selbina and Mhaura now makes more sense than having them there from the start in my opinion. But it is still late.
Running to and from the Dunes was one hell of a hassle but also a learning experience. This late in the game, most people have done it endlessly and as they opened up the outpost to level 10's there's little point in restricting it anymore.
If you can remember that far back, running through the highlands and dunes on your first job did teach you one hell of a lot about mobs, aggro, meds etc. Shows the game is ageing though.
I'm pleased about the mission thing, I've wanted to do Windy missions for ages but have Sara and Ronfaure ops and it's unlikely anyone is going to bother getting them again for Bastok... I'll happily live without them for a few weeks, but not forever.
Thank god someone else is as annoyed as I am when someone calls SE's windowed mode of FFXI "windower." IT AIN'T FUCKING WINDOWER. Windower is a completey different application. There is nothing remotely close to Windower in FFXI. Having windowed mode is a fraction of the functionality Windower provides. Hell, windowed mode for FFXI is still broke as fuck, and FFXI will crash and burn under a myriad of conditions even when running windowed. SE can't even get that right. I'll keep my fingers crossed that they can figure out how to implement auto-sorting.Originally Posted by Izzy
As far as the update notes... I think I can sum it up in a picture.

Auto-sort is a definite winner for non-Windower users. It will be nice for Dynamis when we're killing stuff so fast that forgetting to sort every 5 mins can cause my inventory to fill up if I'm forgetful about sorting.
As for the Moogles in the port towns, who cares... I solo at least until level 25 and I don't touch either of those zones in the process. However, I'm for anything that will encourage new players to 'stick with it'. Things shouldn't be too easy... but there's nothing wrong with added convenience.
I know they said that they were going to let you keep you OPs if you changed nations in the interview. But the way this is worded makes it sound like you keep your OP even after changing, meaning you could get some under one nation, change and then get more....a change wherein along with your mission rank and conquest points, a record of completed supply quests will now be retained even after transferring your allegiance to another nation.
That would be really nice and encourage people to switch around a bit more I think.
Moogles; about friking time.
OK, while the Nomad Moogles in Selbina and Mhaura is nice and convenient, when I think back to leveling my 1st job it felt like an adventure going out to the Dunes leveling, unlocking sub job, going back to town selecting my sub and heading back to the dunes. It was a feeling of accomplishment the 1st time around. It gave the sense that the world was big and dangerous. I can understand them not wanting to change that experience for new players.
i agree about it being long overdue, in reference to the moogles.
i still think it's nice (if you decide to exp a low lvl job) to be able to teleport yourself, then choco to selbina. yes, it's easier to find a teleport in whitegate, but in your home nation... not so much.
What new players? The last time I saw someone completely fresh start an account was about 4 months agoOriginally Posted by Rowe
Goodness this is so annoying, people asked SE for this a long long time ago, and they kept denying us this untill now! When nobody longer really is in need of it.
It's like when you ask your parents if you can have a dog, they absolutely refuse, and then the month after you move out, your parents tell you excitedly that they've changed their mind and bought a dog.
You just feel like skinning a cat at that point, someone pass me the closest mithra available.
Did they fix the issues with the official windowed mode yet? Something like lighting and lag? I don't really remember or care, I don't use it.
I understand what you're saying, but everyone and their brother can usually tell which one is being discussed based on context. Careful, your crazy is showing.Originally Posted by Fhqwghads
(I agree with you, but it doesn't make me as crazy as it does you apparently)
As far as the update. These are all good things. They always hold the good stuff til later anyway. Good stuff + things that are long overdue? Yeah, I'll take it.
I still bet these changes affect big majority of the playerbase, so I think its a good move from SE's part. I think it's better than the mob name color changes at least~
Somewhere in SE:
"Oh, look guys, I just found our to-od list from 2004!"
The mehs have it.
*blah blah 4 years too late*
I think the lightluggage copy is exactly that... a copy. I think SE is just going to evaluate every single windower plugin, and see what has the least impact on the game and implement it. I see this being a first in a long string of SE implemented plugin copies.
Better me than Aikar giving people the same paragraph he gives people that do the same thing haha.Originally Posted by Attila
Seriously, you're deluding yourselves if you think no one uses valkurm anymore. Just because you don't doesn't mean no one does. The fact that most, if not all, of the community has at least one higher level job makes the moogle even more useful. In fact, I don't see how this could be less useful than it was when we first started asking for it. People don't solo or go to korroloka any more or less than they did a few years ago.Originally Posted by Lordwafik
It is funny though that somehow the Devs think we'd want auto-sort to be optional, but wouldn't want battle music to be.
I guess they learned their mistake from that one! :3Originally Posted by LD
