    JP players & Thunder Rings

Sooo.... I don´t know...a hell of a lot of JP players on Carbuncle I have seen all use Thunder Ring(s).

Anyone know the secret behind that? Is it like some JP FAD? or is there some JP blog telling them Thunder Rings are awesome? Or is there some parsed data on a JP wiki thats tells them exactly where they can break into a new DEX tier and a Thunder Ring would beat out a Sniper?

It´s a mystery! Can anyone solve it?

They also are fond of panther masks+1. Have seen more than my fair share of 75 JPs melee'ing in panther mask+1

Edit: Also their mnks use Osode and Fuma rather than dune boots and togi

According to this JP in my LS, JP found that DEX build for critical WS (rampage, jin, etc) > atk/str build. If they are using it for TP then I don't know.

DEX build effectiveness only attainable when PTing on lolibri.
Good luck doing so on mamool & skoffin

    :thatguy:
My guess is that they sold their acc rings when the first 2H update came in, but then prices shot up and they are too cheap to buy them again.
As for the panther mask thing, I notice JP are more inclined to wear things because it looks cool. w.turban = fugly
People always ask me why I nuke in BLM AF2 hat when I could do more dmg with other head pieces, I wear it because it just looks fucking cool.

I still need to get into dat swapping. I never really considered it till I got the ugliest piece of gear in the game, but now I really need to.

Re: JP players & Thunder Rings

I think it is safe to say JP are way behind in general gear/endgame knowledge. Even on the most Japanese-populated server, they still love their Domarus/Osodes/DEX rings/Serket Ring&Ether Ring PLDs and much much more. And I've seen all those listed things in the best JP HNM LS on this server, not just random noobs in whitegate.

Of course they don't really know better because they don't have a source of vast knowledge (These forums) at their disposal. I think most of them are just uneducated really.

Re: JP players & Thunder Rings

I simply assumed they have a JP equivalent of BG? or some central endgame discussion forum. Curious, as when the AV video was released people were reporting that they were making the same jokes and conclusions as us.

They dont seem to be a bunch of tards on valefor.

Perhaps they are more server specific, Bahamut JP's have no clue what is goin on for the most part. It took LabyrinthofPhantasm about a year to kill Fafnir in under 30 minutes...Don't even get me started on their Cerb/Khim/Tia times. They claim about 65% of ALL HNMs and still suck at fighting them. They haven't even touched sea jailers or einherjar.

Re: JP players & Thunder Rings

They actually do have forums like BG but I don't exactly know the names. I used to be in a predominantly TW LS. They had their own little Chinese forums that they'd find out info from. As well as JP ones. Just like theres retarded NAs at the scene there are retarded people who type in squiggly. Don't group the lot of them together just because they all type the same. However on the sylph server the OLD TW and JP people have the biggest hard on for pld/war blood tanking. Think nin or /nin can't hold hate and too big of a MP sink. In short though fuck the EU never will see a good one because they don't know how to play because of their no forums! I was joking about that last part don't shoot me please D:

JP Shells arn't the same as NA ones, at least not on Bahamut. There certainly are alot of JP shells that run sea hardcore and certainly some that do Ein, others that do limbus etc, some of which have members from LoP and stuff. JP seem to like to have other shells for different stuff (like how other servers have random dymamis shells). It's a really strange thing but thats how JPs on Bahamut do things. As for the hnm time thing.. well you're mostly right about that part.

Re: JP players & Thunder Rings

The ability to make a /shout system work is probably one of the best things the JP community is able to do (at least on carbi). We have Salvage, Limbus, Nyzul & Assault shouts every day in mass - and they seem to work out well.

Most times when you try to /shout something in NA time... it is destiny is to fail

I tried asking some JP friend about the Thunder Ring Mania - they all only speculated for Critical hit purpose. But noone was able to give any detailed reasoning or info or parsed data for it.

I'd just like to comment that the person you quoted is from Bahamut as well. How do you feel about this? ;3
