While I haven't been on Carbuncle since October of 2007, the guy was in my only linkshell for sky/dynamis/whatever. I have a very mixed reaction as to wht to post, because I still have so much seething hatred for paying 200k over 1.0m for a dynamis run, and my ideas for improving the way things were handled tossed aside. However, Citadel Buster for 0 is still pretty badass (since he took the only shadow mantle/ring the nolimit had gotten.(not bitter))

Not quite sure why he would shift from Carbuncle after being a leader in Iunnrais, and forming two linkshells of his own. Track his ffxiah history. A lot of shit is bought, but you never see any sold. Couple that with two relics and goldsmithing 100 which he achieved after I left the server, it really makes a person think. He did buy me a second cashmere thread though.

On a personal level, I have no gripe with him other than the 1.2m gil thing for dynamis runs, but this is based on the last event I did with Iunnrais was in July of 2007, and nolimit was probably before that. Just don't let him run a dynamis shell, for the love of god. I don't know anything about his experience with UNFORGIVENLSRAWRAWRAWRAWRAW other than accusations of botting.

Honestly, 43k for a dynamis run and let currency free drop? Comes to 23 people for 1m. >

Honestly, I don't know where he got his Aegis or his Excal, frankly it doesn't matter. I had him as an LS leader for a few months and really, I can understand where he's coming from. Ran UnforgivenLS, a Dynamis LS for a bit and some other mumbo-jumbo. And it just all got kinda rough for him and I can understand his departure.

BUT ANYWAYS...

Pretty good player from what I can see. Plays PLD pretty well, I can't say much for listening to orders because I've only had him as a leader... so I'm assuming by extension, he'll do as hes told. Has a bunch of mules, overall good guy with a great attitude. Can probably lead when a situation calls for it. Pretty much, I'd recommend him. Also comes with a few crafting mules (I know he has a smithing one... not sure about the rest). >.>

otige is a great guy, ive had nothing but a great experience with him from dynamis to endgame. done nothing but work hard and make sure everyoen is treated well and helped out everyone hne could for his shell when he did his own shells no complaints about him at all

Started off in my social, quickly became a dick to the people that helped him get where he is. Is rumored to, and I believe has admitted to buying a massive amount of gil in the past which he used to fund Aegis and Excalibur. He was an officer in Iunnrais when he decided to form his own linkshell, Unforgiven. Also ran an open dynamis linkshell, NoLimit, until he cancelled a run to camp Fafnir and unofficially became HNM-only. Was the head of Unforgiven which, according to those I've spoken to, works entirely to fix him and the officers up. Is well-geared but is somewhat of a laughing stock amongst those on Carbuncle, particularly to the allegations of RMT surrounding him, as well as deaths to various NMs despite having two relics.

It's hilarious that he's leaving though, he's been large on the server for a long time. Off to better pastures?

I've known O since I started the game back in 05. He started out in my social. He climbed the ranks fast and quickly became the main PLD in EQx. He was able to acquire Aegis through EQx, and from what many rumors have told, with the help of buying gil. As well as getting Excalibur only a few months later. But to my knowledge none of that could have been validated. You know his LS history because many have posted it already. O is a good tank. Everyone has slip ups when tanking HNMs. I don't give a damn how many relics you have. Stuff happens and you could just be off your game that night and make a stupid mistake and die. So basing that off of a few HNM kills is retarded because I watched him for over a year tank in dynamis. He knows his stuff. I'm not going to say that O has been a clean cut person about where his gil came from. I'm not going to say he is the very best PLD in the game. But I will say that he knows what he's doing, has a ton of experience, and on average is a very easy person to get along with. O is the kind of person that you either love him or hate him. It's hard to find a few mixed in between. I'm one of the in between. I've seen him do some shady stuff, but I've also seen him pull some amazing tricks out of his bag to get us a win in a zone that we thought we were going to just fall flat on our faces. He isn't the kind of person to take someone's account and rip it of gear and just leave them with nothing. He isn't the kind of guy that will start drama to cause problems because he wants to. He doesn't sit there and talk serious amounts of trash in open with anyone to cause problems. He may trash talk, but he does it in private just like everyone else. He can be a great friend and a bad one. He's your typical person, tbh. If anything, I'd accept him and try it out. What harm can it do? He may be trying to shed all of the crap that happened here. I believe O is leaving Carby to get away from his past baggage and start over. I can only wish him the best of luck and suggest him to a shell. So good luck to ya, O. Hope you find what you're lookin' for over there.

In my encounters with him he was a cool guy, he loaned my LS 30 100's for our aegis. Otige is highly suspected of buying gil from just about every person that attends carbuncle endgame. He was denied several times from joining my LS which started a week after obtaining his aegis and again at a later date.

We didn't pearl him both times because we didn't need any members and the fact it had only been a week since he completed his aegis he was wanting to jump ship.

I am the leader of the social shell stated in Skirkle's post above so my opinions come before he entered into the HNM scene. He was a founding member/sackholder of my social and was always there to lend a hand in whatever event we had planned. Also in the later half of 2006, I was an officer along with Otige in the dynamis shell: EQx. Otige is good guy, even mannered 99% of time and will be firm when the situation calls for it. In my past dealings with him, I've found him to be honest and skilled player. He dis-likes drama and will pretty much steer clear of any thing he deems drama which is probably the reason behind his server switch.

I haven't been on Carbuncle for a little under a year now, but before that I knew Otige pretty well, i'll try to be as unbiased as popular.

I knew him at first from a public Dynamis LS. Not the worst or best Dynamis LS out there. He was in that LS for, literally as long as I remember (It started as DevilTrigger > Equilibrium > EquilibriumX > something else, over like 3 1/2 years), and he was generally always the main tank and caller, and as far as Dynamis calling goes, he does it as good as anyone i've seen.

I've seen him tank a few things here and there, outside of Dynamis, and while i'm sure some people will be like "No skill just good gear!" or whatever, it's probably bullshit. At least from when I was on Carby, a lot of the endgame PLDs loved to diss and mock each other, while doing things exactly the same He's not the best tank i've ever seen, but he's pretty good, and obviously well geared. Plenty of people accused of him of buying gil, I knew he had a ton during inflation period, i've never seen his crafting mules, and personally, I just didn't care much. All his jobs are well geared too, not just PLD. I duo'd my BLM with his a bit while I was leveling it way back, he seemed to know what he was doing, proper gear swaps, etc, but I never saw him play it at 75.

He really dislikes confrontation i'd say. I dunno what else to say I wouldn't blame him for app'ing to the best LS on Carby, to my knowledge none of the LS he was in were hardcore/topclass or whatever, and there's more to FFXI than just Sky/Sea/Limbus/Dynamis over and over, which afaik, is all he was involved in, til the day I left Carbuncle. We talk occasionally still, but not that often.

Needs work with his shadows but most pld/nin's do. seen him die to cerb many many timesdue to his lousy shadow counting and is the main culprit along with bishopzzz of the idea that pld's who get aegis get tremendously lazy and count on the shield to do thier work for them.

Other than that people are stupid about the gil buying most people who are rich in this game probably took advantage of that huge ige sale years ago and still benefit from it
