    Zhayolm Remnant question

I'm a newbie in Salvage. I've read some of the 80 pages Zhayolm Remnants thread in the event forum but it's too much to figure out how should I do this. Some info are too old and some are based on too leet members. So I'd like to ask for some basic instructions for running here.

    My 7 members jobs =
    1) BLU PLD NIN BRD PUP (no storm fife)
    2) WAR DRK
    3) MNK BLM PLD
    4) RDM BRD WHM (has storm fife)
    5) WHM DRG
    6) BLU SMN
    7) THF SAM MNK NIN BLU

Player No. 1/3/4/5/6 has Balrahn's ring, 2/7 has U's ring. Half of us are average players without leet gears but they know how to play very well.

We did like 10 runs of all other Salvage combined but not Zhayolm boss, aiming to do one 35 farm (either 5th or 6th floor) and boss altogether, please advise the course and the setup. Thank you.

    Re: Zhayolm Remnant question

    1) BRD/WHM
    2) WAR/NIN
    3) MNK/NIN
    4) RDM/WHM (or RDM/DRK)
    5) WHM/SCH or WHM/SMN
    6) BLU/NIN
    7) THF/NIN

Actually a pretty good zhayolm setup lol

5F north would be the NM you'd want to do, if you only do one.

    Don't enter on thundersday.

1st room in each wing of first floor => one person invises and runs to ziz porter while you are killin' raptors and bugards => port up (make sure MNK, WAR, and RDM have SJ, weaps, abilities, magic,

Clear room of lizards => Kill mamool => Get MNK WAR and RDM fully geared from the 3 other rooms, extras can go to the blu or thf. If thf has th4, get them hands ofc, but make sure MNK WAR and RDM have full gear before you port up. Duplicate rings or ranged in the first room if you have to.

3f: Send one person invis north to porter, kill mamool until MNK WAR and RDM have gotten all stats including HP and MP (yes the mnk and war need MP cells). Port up once everyone/almost everyone has HP and the the mages+MNK+WAR have MP. Double-check that the MNK WAR and RDM are fully unlocked (zero pathos at all).

4f: Invis through room, kill correct rampart (wiki it), port up.

5f: Train or sneak by or whatever you do for the gear room to get to poroggo, CS/Stun Poroggo if RDM/DRK (prolly not necessary since you have a BLU), otherwise kill it like normal with BLU headbutt locking it.

6f: Go in south bit of room, thf tags chariot and kites it around til it deaggroes/thf dies, start clearing the room of gears with BRD pulling. Might not be a bad idea to pop 2 hours in this room and zerg through it quickly to make time. Clear your way to chariot, kill chariot, send one person to porter when almost done, port up.

If you're feelin saucy you can try carby pulling the chariot to one of the side rooms, but my group's had bad luck with that and likes just saccing/kiting it til deaggro better.

7f: Kill boss. WAR and MNK can tank it just fine, diamondhide will help a lot with discoid.

As much as I love the tales of those elite linkshells that can clear every NM on the way up to and including the boss...most new linkshells can't. on ZR I've never had luck doing a madame + boss, or multiple NMs in the other zones.

    Usually our runs are:
    BR: (1+2+3) or (4+MB)
    ZR: (5+6) or (MB)
AR: (2+3+4+5x2)...haven't worked out which ones we can kill and still make boss, but likely (2+4+5+MB)
SSR: usually some combination of hammerblow + either pk+g3g or g3g+cc or dekka+g1g+g3g or MB.

I'm fairly well geared (BB monk) and so is my tanking partner, but we've yet to get any of our chariot kill times under 15 minutes and most are 20-25 minutes. How people kill them in <10 minutes is beyond me. Tried everything from meat+SV on chariots to ranger/blm/sam heavy setups.

it really comes down to how fast you can clear the chariot, i suppose. if you can do it in <10 minutes you have a lot more leeway than a group that takes 20-25.

You can kill all bosses in under 10 mins with the right jobs. MNK MNK SAM SAM DRK can probably kill any boss in 7 mins or less. Soul Voice + Hundred fist usually gets boss to 66-70% from the start.. In BR you should do 2 ramparts to 50% & 4th floor rampart til you have 10 mins left to be safe then do LBC.

yea that will most likely work in bhaf and arrapago, but if you do that in ZR you're gonna see a crapton of Discoids. especially with 7 people. 4400 needles, 3300 needles when shell V is applied. each one is gonna hurt. with 2 mnks 2hring along with a bunch of other melees beating on it at the same time zerg team style the mages won't be able to keep up and keep themselves alive at the same time. Yea it'll drop fast but more than likely your pty will drop faster.

anyway, I'd say at least kill it first before worrying about clearing nms on the way up. once your group is comfortable with the chariot then you can probably throw 5f poroggo in there.

I wanna say woosh, but I'm not sure Veli is joking. <_<

Edit: It doesn't take an elite group to kill 5FN+Boss, or most Arrapago NMs+Boss, or Hammerblow > Powderkeg > Gyro3 > Boss. The idea in Bhaflau of 2 ramparts to 50% and still having time for some 4th Rampart is an elite prospect though, and also hinges on a lot of great luck with where the gears are positioned on 4F (not to mention weather not popping up). It's more realistic to say 1 Rampart to 25% and a weakened boss, to allow time for 4F bad luck.

Just because you can do it in 10 minutes or less, zerging with 5 melees, so on, doesn't mean that's what you should aim for. Especially for a beginning group. That kind of kill speed is something that comes with experience and repetition, if you try to do it right away you'll probably fail. Like Nagi said, get comfortable with the boss first, then start working on fitting in more NMs, killing faster, etc.
