Is that stuff still going around? I read up on a lot of updates and I'm considering a return. Just curious if people still prefer most DD jobs over a DRG. I left off in the mid 30's by the way.

DRG still doesn't really have a place in endgame, except maybe as a slot in tpburn hnm for angon.

But as far as exp is concerned, DRG is one of the top-notch exp jobs atm. Since Aht'urhgan, you can pretty much go from 50->75 solely off of piercing-weak mobs, and the best merit camp is piercing-weak mobs. A walmart-equipped drg can probably parse as well as well-equiped otherDD on the way up to 75. At 75, it takes a little more to be good, but a decent DRG can still parse respectably in merit parties, and a pimp drg can rival even some pimp-other jobs.

It's still a pretty good solo'er if you're not into parties, /whm or blu with Sanction refresh and you can probably solo your way easily from 50 >75 also.

DRG is great in salvage, nyzul, assaults, anything lowman. With saurian helm/wyrm armet and some wyvern hp+ it can be the most mp efficient healer and also deal a great amount of damage (our DRG/WHM outdamages even our monks sometimes in salvage). 7mp for 400+ healing breath? It's just awesome.

People still make references to it, but it's not as bad as it was before. You can easily pull your weight in an exp party or other group activity.

They also buffed the wyverns in one of the patches, although I don't know if anyone ever figured out concretely what they did to their stats. The effect is easy to notice on Healing Breath after you've had the wyvern out for a bit without zoning or it dying. I was pulling 450 HP breaths without any wyvern HP gear, just the wyrm armet.

Loldrg is still around, but it's more of an homage to the past.

Right now, DRG is one of the strongest and most efficient DD jobs in the game, if used properly.

(Note that this means getting a LOT of hard-to-obtain gear, including Dusk or Homam, and Hecatomb for WSes.)

I know some DRGs that soloed pretty much 1-75 before WotG came out, so I'm sure that between Sigil and Sanction areas, you can do it even better now.

Honestly, the good DRGs in our LS (2 that play regularly, 1 that doesn't play much now) have always done good damage on it. The improvements SE keep making just make them better.

Edited because I'm dumb; of course you want it for at least Angon on fast zergs, and really its damage is fine there too. It's a good job for just about anything.

We've had a couple of decent Drg in our LS and one that is a real stand out with all the toys. Tusk is devastating.

As its been said, most people have come to recognize what a beast Dragoon is at birds, but I can't even begin to express how amazing they are in Nyzul if you're a group that prefers to split up into teams most of the time.

But yeah, for Homam, it's almost never a question of "If I ever get it", but rather "When I eventually get it". The hardest part about obtaining Homam is getting Sea access honestly. Most people in my shell go 5/5 on the set inside of a year, which isn't too bad considering we have an approximate 1:1 Omega:Ultima ratio. (Temenos is a whore.)

People with more than 10 people in a limbus group would be the reason why you're still waiting on Homams
as 2-3 Blm's can duo-trio half the apollyon zones and a party of 5-6 melee's /nin's or nin's can do Apollyon SE and SW
this means that you can do an omega every 3rd limbus (of course farming the chips from him to make it go faster) equalling out to 3 (can it drop 2?) homamz a weekish.... if you're still waiting on Homamz it's because you brought an alliance to clear one zone and if you're running on a point system it's because those people who showed up to everything else but limbus STILL had more points than you once each set was farmed. Anyways <.< All that aside Drg is still lolDrg because thats its nickname! you never lose nicknames ... They're pretty pimp for anything but zergs(1 for angon) and situations where you need DD's /thf now.

However, you can also see by the tone of most of the posters in this thread that respect is increasing because it just brings the smack down even /mage when well geared.

I can see more positives coming when DRG's are being spoken about. I remember not to long ago where I was just looking through Allakazam and DRG's were just getting shitted on when it came to EndGames especially.
