Why are girl haircuts 50$ and boys are 7.50$?

I usually leave 10$ tip for my haircut, which means I pay 60$ for a haircut, while you guys pay like 20 max. What the fuck.

I always wondered this too. If you cut hair thats 5 inches long to 2 inches long, and hair that's 3 inches long to 2 inches long, you cut them to the same length. So you cut "more" but its not REALLY more (if it doesn't make sense, I mean, you're cutting longer hair, but the amount of hairs is roughly the same so you're not actually cutting more hair). If anything, people with thicker hair should be charged more than thinner hair, and that's not always the case (ie: I have extremely thick but not very long hair, long for a boy I guess)

In addition to my previous comments on tipping before anyone shits their pants in disgust: I don't mind tipping exceptional service. But when people expect a tip, I never tip them. You get paid for what you work for. If your banking on tips to get through the day then find another job.

I pay 35$ for a comp. cigar and beer (not really comp. its built into the price). Usually tip about 5 bucks.

If I have a $1 in my wallet, I'll leave that for the busboy just 'cause I'm a nice guy, even when I'm aware that they get tipouts; or if it's the sort of place where the busboys are supposed to come and take your plates when you're finished with them, even if you're not leaving yet (P.F.Chang's comes to mind), and they're attentive about it, I'll sometimes leave em a $5. Varies by situation, obviously.

Possibly. Most of my friends who work as waiters, etc. currently or in the past have told me they always got minimum wage in addition to whatever tips they make. A lot of the jobs I worked at (fast food etc) paid me minimum wage and I got no tips. So I don't see how its so very different. If anything, I'd tip the chef, but the chefs never get any tips. I worked for a pizza company before, the driver's were making 3x the chef's wage just in tips alone (not including gas, but even with gas inclusion it was more than the chef) on a regular night. And for what, all they do is bring you your food and take your money.

lol, minimum wage for you is about 3x higher than a waiter or waitresses. I think it's around 7 bucks or so now?

minimum wage in restaurants is typically around 2.50 maybe a couple bucks more if your at a higher class restaurant and if you're on the restaurants meal plan you can cut about a dollar an hour off that.

you make 7 bucks X 40 hours = 280 a week, still crap but compare that to a waiter or who's making about 2.50 x 40 hours = 100 if they're lucky.

Take that against most decent hourly jobs are a bit above minimum wage and you make more hourly where-as the waiter does not.

If you don't tip, you're scum plain and simple.

Edit: and also, working at a fast food place like mcdonalds or burger king /= working at a restaurant where you actually wait on someone. The pay structure is different.

try working at an actual restaurant where you got 4-8 tables of grumpy assholes asking you for things one at a time and being a dick if you don't have it right away and tell me that's the same as standing at a counter and just entering someones order into a computer.

industry standard around here is 2.13/hr for servers. that same 2.13/hr is what gets taxed based on your tips, so generally most servers dont even get a pay check even working 40+ hours and will usually still owe taxes come april.

its a great part time job if you work at a place that doesnt bring in trash guests. its also a chance at a career that requires no education besides high school because a lot of restaurants will just promote from within and you can go from server to manager in a small amount of time. higher end restaurants you can clear a grand a week easy in tips.

costs me $11 at the barber for a fade, I leave him $9 to make it an even $20...

It may seem like alot but all the barbers know your a good tipper, so you dont wait in line, and they make sure they do a really good job on your haircut.
