Is there a program or method out there that would be good for capturing songs off of bands' myspace players that don't have download enabled?

I used to use one called myspace-grab, and then as far as I know it was deleted. They seem to be pretty quick on removing those sorts of websites.
Download Helper plugin for Firefox does it.
what is google
Best way I've found.Originally Posted by Seditedi

I personally use Total Recorder myself.
Orbit /thread
nah, its not compatible with everything.
Recording anything going audio-out = /thread lol
If thats the case, then Windows Sound Recorder is the best.
That does Audio-In? Although, the last time I used that shit was in 1st grade in the computer lab while playing with Kidpix... man I loved that shit. But, I don't remember windows sound recording having audio-out capability.
If you go to sound options, and select line in, it will record anything that would normaly be played through the speakers.
Well shit, if it lets you select bitrate, I would still use it over any of the rippers. There's plenty of times where you just won't find any option but to record the shit yourself lol That's all I'm saying.
Alotta people ask me this question 'how do I record this stream/asx/flash shit/etc' and the easiest software to do it with that you can customize is Total Recorder. If youre not really digging for music on anything but youtube/myspace or don't really care bout sound quality, then just google up the ripping sites for quick shit. My 2cents peace!
What are you talking about? It works with youtube, pandora, myspace, last.fm! Orbit = /thread!
Since when do any of those sites contain rare indy tracks, live shows, or a good collection of world music? In rare cases youtube might have a little bit of those, but that's def not the first place I look for something. I'm just saying for music in general, there's no substitute for recording software of your own.
I know I'm not the only dude who has ran into some bullshit streams that use .asx file or maybe a website that had a song encoded in flash and etc. Very common on Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Serb, Russian websites, for example. Plus, who the hell knows when myspace, youtube, or any of those sites will want to cockblock the popular site rippers out there. They can't stop you from recording with yo windows audio recorder AKA 'My first lil MC recorder'![]()
Yes because I mean your going to get a 1000% better quality from something you record then tell it to save as some lossless when the original your recording from is already a .mp3 thats 192 or even 128! Your logic surprises me! If anything your going to get shittier quality because to get an exact copy your going to need some super fucking sound card to output it then the same sound card to record the output! Most likely your going to lose something in there because you have a shit sound card! Why not just download the source of whats playing so you know your getting what your listening to instead of what your getting through your output to input setup?Originally Posted by sunb1ind
Sometimes you can rip from a stream if you know what your doing! However yes sometimes you need to record through audacity or some other program but as I stated unless you have an amazing sound card there will be loss. I suggest grabbing a creative sound card as those support what u hear which seems to be pretty good.! I don't know everything so I know I'm partially wrong.
Unless you're rocking some on-board soundcard from 8 years ago, you're not going to notice the difference in sound degrade from using recording software, especially if you're NOT an audio guru like someone as myself. I don't know about that generic Windows recording shit, but Total Recorder doesn't compress/artifact or none of that shit to your audio.
If you're a casual listener and frequent only myspace, get the ripper. If you want something that will cover anything and everything, get some software. No big deal son 8)
edit: i need some sleep, done arguing lol
file2HD.com works as well. Copy the URL in (ie: myspace.com/blahblahbandwhatever)
and you can take Audio/Video/Pictures from any site that you know the address of.
Well as I stated before why not rip it in the first place? All your going to do when recording it from output is get at least the same file that you can spend about 2 minuets less recording and have it on your hard drive? Your not going to get any better quality from recording it rather than ripping it.Originally Posted by sunb1ind
