PS3 Wireless Connection Troubles

So I got a PS3 in January and I have always had issues with it connecting with my wireless router.
I can almost never connect without going to the Internet browser and spamming the refresh button until I get a connection.

This didnt really bother me until recently when I bought the Orange Box.
A patch has been released for this game but whenever I go to download it, I can never connect to the Internet...

I have a Linksys wireless router.
is there any setting I can change to make my router better handle multiple requests at one time??

Would it happen to be a WRT54G or a version of it, if so, the router needs the latest firmware, UPnP needs to be disabled and you need to make sure you have the correct ports forwarded, which you can find on sony's support site for the PS3.

Yes, and many others with this router. Pretty much hear the words "connection troubles" and "Linksys Wireless" and I've already assumed this model lol... Just seems to be a lot of bugs with it, I had a fit getting it to work properly with my DSL modem and the 3 macs/2 PCs in the house. It's doing ok now, but everytime I see someone having problems with wireless 8 out of 10 times it's this effing router.
