And the next 6 Playthroughs are to make sense of the Plot and how it fits into the MGS universe.Originally Posted by Kaylia
so a word of warning, the bundles are going to be very very limited, as in less than 5 per store almost everywhere.
Isn't it under 10,000 Bundles world-wide or some such?Originally Posted by izembo

What the fuck is this shit? Is the Gamestop bundle including some stupid piece of shit bluetooth headset that they are forcing you to drop an extra $60 on? If so, incredibly, extremely fucking retarded.
I know there's like 10 people on these forums that work at Gamestop - confirm or deny.
I think that's only of the 40GB gunmetal gray bundle with the MGS4 Special Edition. There will be more of the 80GB bundles.Originally Posted by Wintermute
Yeah that's what I'm wondering when they go on sale on amazon tomorrow morning...is it going to be just impossible to get one? Even tripling the allocation of 80 GB bundles compared to the gunmetal bundles probably won't make it possible to get one unless you camp the site like crazy...Originally Posted by archibaldcrane
doesn't the 80 GB one have a picture of snake imposed on the side or is that just boxart?
It's just boxart to show the PS3 to scale.Originally Posted by Robert Mk. 2
i'm talking the 80gb, $499 system. less than 5 per store. very very limited. and no headset to that rumor, that might be a website offer, they always bundle on website.

I can't seem to get any confirmation of a EU release for the 80Gb Bundle.
Local shops get all their stock from Amazon/Play too so going there is useless...

Few questions, from what I understand 40 GB has no PS2 backwards compatability but full PS1 compatability? What kind of BC does the 20 GB have? I believe the games are region free, is there any exceptions? Also, if I was to import a 60/80GB, would I be able to play my PAL PS1/PS2 games, or would I be fucked for BC anyway?
20Gb and 60Gb have the Hardware and Software Emulation whereas 80Gb is Software only when it comes to BC if I recall.Originally Posted by Kiarax

Not too well versed in PS3 tech though given how well Sony marketed it in the EU so someone else can probably give you a 100% accurate answer.
BC is region coded
Thanks for the link! I picked up the package and it came to around $615 (basically $75 more than what the normal bundle will be- *however* I have been looking for a good mic set and this kills 2 birds with one stone) with tax and overnight shipping. I won't be able to pick one up the day of the release since I workOh well, money well spent. I finally own a PS3!
Alright, thanks. I assume if I get a 20 I can upgrade the HD to 60 or 80 GB and keep the BC? I own a good 30+ games on my 360 and I don't think I'd be able to manage with something as little as 20 GB when most of the games seem to force you to install them. As for games, was thinking of picking up Uncharted and maybe Folklore with it (and obviously MGS when it's out), any other games worth looking into? Anything multiplatform that interests me I likely own on the 360 already.
Friend tells me it's a basic Laptop HDD, so there shouldn't be a problem swapping in a meatier Drive.Originally Posted by Kiarax
Ugh, apparently they didn't even release a PAL 20 GB PS3, not sure why I thought they did. Only 60 GB I can find that'll deliver to France is £550 ($1100). Think I might just pick up a 40 GB since it's alot cheaper. Can someone confirm it plays PS1 games or do I have that incorrect too? If not I can always just pick up a new PS2 and a 40 GB since it still works out alot cheaper.![]()
It does indeed play PS1 games.Originally Posted by Kiarax
