I think that's only of the 40GB gunmetal gray bundle with the MGS4 Special Edition. There will be more of the 80GB bundles.

Yeah that's what I'm wondering when they go on sale on amazon tomorrow morning...is it going to be just impossible to get one? Even tripling the allocation of 80 GB bundles compared to the gunmetal bundles probably won't make it possible to get one unless you camp the site like crazy...

I can't seem to get any confirmation of a EU release for the 80Gb Bundle.

Local shops get all their stock from Amazon/Play too so going there is useless...

Think I'm gonna pick up a PS3 in a couple of days. Pisses me off that they don't seem to do 60 or 80 GB PS3's here though. Few questions, from what I understand 40 GB has no PS2 backwards compatability but full PS1 compatability? What kind of BC does the 20 GB have? I believe the games are region free, is there any exceptions? Also, if I was to import a 60/80GB, would I be able to play my PAL PS1/PS2 games, or would I be fucked for BC anyway?

20Gb and 60Gb have the Hardware and Software Emulation whereas 80Gb is Software only when it comes to BC if I recall.

And I think that whilst the Games/PS3 aren't region locked the BC games would be to the console's original region.

Not too well versed in PS3 tech though given how well Sony marketed it in the EU so someone else can probably give you a 100% accurate answer.

I picked up the package and it came to around $615 (basically $75 more than what the normal bundle will be- *however* I have been looking for a good mic set and this kills 2 birds with one stone) with tax and overnight shipping. I won't be able to pick one up the day of the release since I work Oh well, money well spent. I finally own a PS3!

Alright, thanks. I assume if I get a 20 I can upgrade the HD to 60 or 80 GB and keep the BC? I own a good 30+ games on my 360 and I don't think I'd be able to manage with something as little as 20 GB when most of the games seem to force you to install them. As for games, was thinking of picking up Uncharted and maybe Folklore with it (and obviously MGS when it's out), any other games worth looking into? Anything multiplatform that interests me I likely own on the 360 already.

Friend tells me it's a basic Laptop HDD, so there shouldn't be a problem swapping in a meatier Drive.
