Generally if you open it up and fuck with the laser a bit that's very fixable. Mine is finicky too and that helped.

cost effectiveness, their studies showed more people were keeping their ps2 systems and would rather have a cheaper system, hence the 40gb. price point has always been a major concern in this generation of systems.

Perhaps their studies overlooked that people were keeping their PS2s because it had games worth playing at a fraction of the cost. The MGS4 80 gig PS3 bundle has me sold though, so hurray.

Last final is wednesday, so this works out perfectly. I'm surprised my gamestop I pre ordered from is doing the midnight release. Never done a midnight release for games before. Is it important to get there pretty early usually? If so how early ect.

Last (and only I think) midnight release I did was for FFXII. Showed up about 30 min beforehand and chatted it up with some of the others in line, maybe 15 people there. I paid in full ahead of time so it was a fast in and out for me once the doors opened. No MGS4 midnight release near me in NY though, so I guess I'll have to grab it after work.

I have a lot of opporotunity costs I lose if I don't get the wal-mart bundle and instead take the one I already have pre-ordered at TRU. I have to take a half day off work to pick up the TRU one when it opens (can pick up @ wal-mart at midnight), then I have to drive 40 miles to TRU, then I lose the $100 gift card. That's at least half of the fucking PS3 cost right there lol.

Sonystyle.com's order is still "notify me" instead of "add to cart" and the receptionists on the phone are no help at all. They can't even tell me if it will be available to order on the release date...

...same with the Sonystyle store 6 blocks from me - they don't even know if they are getting it in on the 12th.

There's a program at my job that lets you earn $500 gift certificates to best buy or circuit city, so I plan on getting a basically free ps3 + game at best buy, so does that mean I can't get the limited edition version that will also be bundled, from best buy? There are 2 bundles, 1 for regular and 1 for limited edition.
