unless you have a 120hz tv...then you need to get a HDMI that's 120hz capable. the cheap ones are not.

Goddamnit motherfucking job, they're making me come in early tomorrow, so I have to try to hit up Walmart now before work (not 24 hours) - they open at 8, I'll try to get there at 7, but I'll probably be fighting traffic on my way...

Man I'm going to be tired tomorrow. Goddamnit.

Just got back from GameStop, got my bundle. It's good to be friends with the store manager & all the assistant managers. He guaranteed me and my friend each a bundle, and even though they only got 4, we got 2 of them.

Just got back from Wallymart. Picked up the bundle, but the bitch didn't want to give me the $100 gift card. Long story short: I had none of that.

So here I am, with my PS3/MGS4 cradled under 1 arm, my $100 gift card in my other hand, ready to pass out before a long day of MGS4 PS3 humping.

Good night all

Re: Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots

Chilled in the lobby for 3 hours, it turns out that they only had 4 PS3s (maybe some workers snagged 2 or something?). But it was just Recup, myself, and some other dude that were waiting for it. The $100 gift card rang up automatically with the bundle. Like, when she scanned it, and said "Gift Card Promo" on the register, then said to slide the card. So there was no drama there. The Warranty was $10 more than they told me ($28.88), but no matter. It goes for 2 years after the mfg warranty for a 3 year total coverage. Sweet, Now I sleep without even opening it.

Not even tried the MK.II yet
Solid Eye is brilliantly convenient.

And is it me or is this game way harder than other MGS?
When they said "No place to hide" they really meant it, one false move and the PMC are all over you.

And <3 to all the in-game jokes like when you find the Steel Drum.

Best part so far was when the Frogs show up soon after you meet up with Meryl. Loved that sequence.

And the Cut-scenes. Good Lords they are awesome.

Kudos to the Kojima too, the sneaky Bastard, I finished Act one last night and a lot of what was in all the trailers takes place then!
Looking forward to the rest of it.[/spoiler:mq3ng7lv]

Re: Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots

So, I went to the MGS4/Kojima signing at the Virgin Megastore in Times Square. We had someone start camping in line at 11:30AM, good thing we did because the fucking line reached around 2 city blocks. Here's some pictures of the line. We were standing on 46th and Broadway, basically a half a block away from the store which was around the corner on the left.

[spoiler:3uxmzcaj]http://img246.imageshack.us/img246/6...1081933or3.jpg[/spoiler:3uxmzcaj]

[spoiler:3uxmzcaj]http://img246.imageshack.us/img246/5...1082208mm7.jpg[/spoiler:3uxmzcaj]

The Konami/MGS4 video crew came out and started interviewing random people in line. That was pretty fun. They basically picked out the loudest people they could find and started recording them. They then pulled a few fans to the side and got some quiet interviews. I got a couple pictures of them.

[spoiler:3uxmzcaj]http://img402.imageshack.us/img402/48/0611082229px2.jpg[/spoiler:3uxmzcaj]

[spoiler:3uxmzcaj]http://img402.imageshack.us/img402/6...1082305fq5.jpg[/spoiler:3uxmzcaj]

The Virgin event staff eventually moved us up to the front of the store.

[spoiler:3uxmzcaj]http://img402.imageshack.us/img402/2...1082358me6.jpg[/spoiler:3uxmzcaj]

They invited us into the store and walked about 200 of us down to the bottom basement of the store. They told everyone there they have to buy either the game or the bundle to get something signed. You were allowed to have one thing signed, but it could be ANYTHING. Some girl had her white DS signed Q_Q.

[spoiler:3uxmzcaj]http://img441.imageshack.us/img441/3...2080023ul4.jpg[/spoiler:3uxmzcaj]

Then, once everyone was packed in, they switched every TV in the store to the MGS4 advertisement and Kojima and Yumi Kikuchi, the model for Raging Raven came down the escalator and everyone freaked out.

[spoiler:3uxmzcaj]http://img208.imageshack.us/img208/6...2080026hi1.jpg[/spoiler:3uxmzcaj]

[spoiler:3uxmzcaj]http://img208.imageshack.us/img208/9...2080037fl7.jpg[/spoiler:3uxmzcaj]

The staff there were really cool. They were going around the line and talking to random fans about anything and everything. When you made it to the front of the line, you gave Kojima's translator (who's name escapes me) what you wanted signed and Kojima and Kikuchi would sign it. They would even pose for you so you could get a good picture of them. There was some guy who camped out in a cardboard box dressed like Snake. When he got to the front of the line, Kojima grabbed the cardboard box, signed it, then stood up and held the box in the air. Everyone cheered, I wish I had gotten a picture of it but I wasn't really thinking about it at the time. Eventually I got to the front and got 2 really good pictures of him.

[spoiler:3uxmzcaj]http://img211.imageshack.us/img211/6...2080045sl1.jpg[/spoiler:3uxmzcaj]

[spoiler:3uxmzcaj]http://img211.imageshack.us/img211/7...2080046bq0.jpg[/spoiler:3uxmzcaj]

He thanked each person who gave him something to sign for buying the game, then passed the item to Kikuchi who would sign as well. Then you were escorted off the floor to the 2nd basement where a bunch of free shit was given out.

[spoiler:3uxmzcaj]http://img246.imageshack.us/img246/4...2080300jk8.jpg[/spoiler:3uxmzcaj]

It was a really fun experience. It was a steady 75 degrees out at all times so it was perfect weather. Sorry for the kind of shitty pictures. They came from an LG Chocolate haha. My girlfriends brother videotaped the whole thing and plans on putting it up on Youtube tomorrow. I'll post it here if he does it.

*EDIT* You can see the box guy sitting in the box in the first picture hahaaha.

May I suggest putting all those pictures in a spoiler box and just say "Expand to see pics"? I think people should consider using them for very long posts like that, they work perfectly for it.

Got to love kojima. I bet he was having a lot of fun, this was probably a dream come true to him.

not huge spoilers, act 1 stuff.
[spoiler:1taonk9e]Yeah, cut scenes are easily one of the most impressive I've seen. I love all the scenes with Meryl's team, especially Akiba and how he shit himself lol. I started act 2 a while ago, and a couple of ohshit moments happen. nothing extreme, but pretty funny/fucked up. As for weapons, single shot rifle+scope(long range)+silencers = killing machine. That, and a P90 for close encounters, grenades for fun which I switch out with rocket lawnchairs for helichopters and APCs.[/spoiler:1taonk9e]

Even better to work there, been playing the game since yesterday. I absolutely love it but I have a quick question to those who have been playing for a bit:

[spoiler:2a4hbxzn]Is the girl with Liquid Naomi? They showed her face but some fucking asshole called me during the cutscene and I couldn't hear if snake said it was Naomi or not but it sure looked like her. I'm like 99% sure it is but I'm just getting confirmation <_<[/spoiler:2a4hbxzn]
