Well, I did some searching of the forums, but couldn't find any previous mention of the Gametrailers.com Metal Gear Retrospective. Edit: And I guess my only concern on the HDMI vs Component thing is timing; HDMI ensures the timing between the audio/video is in sync, I've heard of people who have issues (particularly with rhythm games) where the audio gets all out of whack and throws you off.

Video wise it probably doesn't make that much difference, I've never tried to compare the two, just much prefer minimizing # of cables I have to use

I just beat the first boss [spoiler:czahe9wr]Laughing Octopus[/spoiler:czahe9wr] and its an amazing game so far! What is going on with the flashbacks though? I noticed X kept coming up but I thought it meant to skip the CS until like a few hours in then I started pressing it lol, but it just gives a pic for like 0.5 sec so I keep spamming it, am I doing it right?

im barley just past the arms dealer but, yeah the "x" or the "L1" during a CS just shows to like give a ghost image of something from the past hes remembering. I usually press em.

Yeh I was doing L1 but with L1 you just hold it down, X seems like you have to spam it, atleast that's what I have been doing.

Edit: Anyone else who thinks the EU cover looks better than NA?

Indeed you are, it's a pretty nice feature, though it distracts you a bit from the CS, the L1 prompts are nice too.
Nice touch that they're all taken straight from previous games and concept art to boot.

Im only in act 1, but im pretty far into It. So far this game feels more like CoD4 mixed with a storyline of Metal gear Solid rather than MGS on its own. Im not complaining though, since CoD4 was amazing in terms of its battle system. The only complaint I;ve had so far was the opening few zones were really difficult as many of the enemies were blocking the paths in groups and it was difficult to maneuver my way through them (im playing on hardest available difficulty).

As far as HDMI goes. I bought some HD cables a while back but I was really confused when they did not insert into the HDMI on my PS3, but went into the old component female insert on the PS3, yet the male end of the cable was built for HDMI. I thought that was a little weird. but Gfx wise, with HD its just so beautiful sometimes I actually can't tell if the characters are CGI or real actors when at a distance its done so well.

[spoiler:c1a77r7t]I loved the scene when you first meet Rat Patrol, Meryl is introducing you to the team and you see the big ass exclamation mark on that guys head. Had me rolling for a few minutes. Also, if you look at Izzys pictures, you'll see the same haircut on some random guy hahaha[/spoiler:c1a77r7t]
