I have snake idling outside Mantis' room, left him there for 8hrs, my time was at 27:11:46. I just no zoned into the mantis room and saved, checked my total playtime and it's at 26:11:15...how the hell did my playtime lessen?

Goddamnit BRP, just join Catastrophic, I don't want to have to gimpily search for your name with my dualshock every time I sign on. Popping up on the guild list is so much easier, noone cares if your guild isn't leet.

The DS3 has no SIXAXIS right? If that's true I can't use it for MGO.

Ah ok, I keep hearing that it doesn't, trying to wake up by shaking the analog sticks is too annoying, I'd hate to have to do that again.

A rumour that's gone around for about close to a fortnight now is that on December 12 2008, six months after the release of MGS4 the real ending will be revealed. It's just a rumour but it sounds pretty cool to me, I just hope if they actually did do something like this we won't need to pay for it. (Even though I would)

Also, forwarding your system clock to Dec 12 does not trigger anything. It's probably bullshit, but if it were true I think it'd be pretty neat.

The rumor surfaced from the fact that in the credits it says Kojima was the voice from God. Though, its been proven that during the Mantis fight, if u press X during a certain time(I forget which) it will flash some pics and Kojima's voice...I'll see if I can dig it up.

Hahaha oh well. Not only is it bullshit, but if I haven't heard of it, it's obviously not circulated enough to be important.

wait so you can wake up using sixaxis too? I really wish the instruction manual was a little more elaborate on things. so much shit that they don't even talk about in it

Yeah, you can wake up by just shaking the controller, the instruction manual sucks for MGO, I find out most of my info from the net.

While they may introduce DL content for the single player, I call it bs... how was the story not considered finished? I thought they went above & beyond explaining everything; & it's usually the last little blip after the credits w/leaves a cliff hanger [and it didn't this time]

I worded it incorrectly, my mistake. Rather than "real" ending I should have said ** ending spoilers**

Snake's end will be revealed as he dies after six months. The idea of this happening doesn't sound like a real possibility, just optimism. But they could possibly add further closure to the series by having Snake reunite with Meryl and Raiden, possibly Campbell as well before he does die. He's going to spend the remaining six months he has living, so why not catch up with old friends and comrades to say your goodbyes while you're at it?

sorry for the bump, just got the game yesterday and beat it today but I got a question that I've searched a couple websites for but can't find:

is there any other codec numbers you can call other then OTACON and Rosemary?

if there isn't then I'm pretty disappointed random codec calls with different characters was one of the best things I enjoyed in previous games. But it'd be my only complaint, I enjoyed the game through and through

Unfortunately those are the only codec calls. They supposedly had more but moved them from codec to cutscene.

For those of you who want to play with the Patriot without getting the Big Boss emblem, the Thor .45-70 large-caliber hand rifle...

"Two new passwords have been revealed for Metal Gear Solid 4. Inputting the access codes in the 'Extras' menu gives players two new weapons: Thor .45-70 large-caliber hand rifle and The Boss' Patriot from Metal Gear Solid 3. Here are the two codes, respectively: tshsniammr and pkhhnwhsjt.

In addition to the new codes, there's also new music for the in-game iPod titled "Battle." It's a track from the Plant Chapter in MGS2. It seems Konami is really cranking up the fan service ... and we like it!"
