[spoiler:130xybij]Ocelot is The Boss' son... there's a conversation in MGS3 between Snake and EVA that doesn't flat out SAY IT, but it says that his mother gave birth to him on the battlefield, and they had to close her up fast so it came out leaving a scar shaped like a snake on her chest... and obviously the phone conversation at the end proves that Ocelot is also ADAM. IIRC correctly, EVA also says that Ocelot's mother had an affair with someone close to her in her unit, so assuming that's Ocelot's father and knowing The Boss' backstory, I would assume that father/lover is The Sorrow, which in turn would also sort of explain how Liquid can take over Ocelot's body... correct me if i'm wrong BRP?[/spoiler:130xybij]

Has anyone heard of any midnight release for the game? I called my local gamestop but i heard that they got no confirmation, i would thing a game THIS big would deserve a midnight release.

we're doing a midnight, but honestly this game isnt that big. its like 1/4 as big as halo 3 was. we had 200+ reserves on halo 3 and we have like 46 on mgs4. honestly midnight for this will have like 15 people show up and is a waste of time =/

and yes, i know halo 3 sucks, i'm comparing turnout for a midnight sale, which unfortunately halo 3 gets like half of 200 to show up, whereas even if half of the mgs4 people show up, thats only 25 people, and a waste of time to do a midnight for it.

I don't see why your decision is difficult. You've already bought a P.O.S. refurb 60gb PS3 that didn't work. Are you willing to forgive the security of a 1 year warranty just so a couple of CSs in MGS3 aren't choppy? When I'm dropping 400+ bones on something, there's no way in hell I'm risking it. I coulda bought a 60gb off ebay for around the cost of the 80gb I'm about to buy, however, I've heard stories of PS3s that just stop working. Tajin, I think(?), just had his PS3 go out. Yeah, fuck that. I want assurance my investment will work for at least a year (and I'll be buying an extended warranty).

I just played through the series again on my 80GB, only problem I saw was MGS3 has some framerate drops when you fight The Fury, everything else is fine.

It's ok. MGS was never about the gameplay to me, the story was what kept me going; so I couldn't keep interested. No matter how hard I tried I kept thinking that if I was going to play that sort of game I'd rather be playing CoD4 or Halo 3.
