pretty sure the fight doctor called the chick fight, but I was ok with that stoppage to be honest, a gouge had opened up uner her eye, and that is the kind of thing you a fight will get stopped for.

Mainly the best fight of the night being called a no contest when both parties could/wanted to go on, was what got me.

It's CBS what did you expect? Unfortunately while they were so quick to stop the fights, they weren't all that quick to actually START them. Nine minutes of fight time in the first ninety minutes the show was on the air. Good job Elite.

This shit does not belong on primetime TV. Period. Worst MMA show I've ever seen. As for my boy Kimbo vs Thompson? Wow, that dude really needs some endurance lol But, I have to admit, I didn't expect him to go from zero ground exp. to outlasting someone with veteran MMA experience. The end of round 2 was hard to watch because he just sat there, even though those blows were nothing worth writing home about. I agree that was a bit premature stoppage, BUT it was pretty obvious to me he was going to take the fall with another one of those fists. Too many shots to the chin, he was done for, and that ear was fuckin gross enough for me to stop it myself lol

Kimbo has a lot of work to do, but Bas Ruten is doing his job and has alot of potential to work with on his hands. That was the most overhyped opponent I've ever seen, that guy was basically on Kimbo's level, except he had no type of "brawler" skill that he so claimed to be.

No more network TV MMA, please.

Thompson has gone down hill since his early days in pride, he didn't always look like he got hit with a ballbat all the time either. only good thing to come from this fight is it exposed kimbo total lack of game. Thompson is known recently for having a jaw made from a pane of glass and yet he took multiple shots from kimbo. ground game is self explanatory, but neither of them could do a whole lot. awful this was the main event.

i honestly did not expect thompson to take more than 4 shots before he hit the canvas. the "grim", who fought in the show opener, hit him once and ko'd him...alexander emelienko ko'd him in less than 20 seconds, i expected kimbo to do the same. you say bas is doing his job...but kimbo had zero cardio and no idea what to do with someone on top of him. that's first week jiu jitsu and basic cardio. bas may be trying to help this guy out...but he was garbage and i don't see him ever improving.

You know I read all these MMA type threads and it really makes me want to get into watching it. I was pretty excited about this being on last night and finally being able to see what it's all about on TV instead of youtube clips, but something came up... but it sure sounds like I didnt miss much or this would have even turned me away from it.

Day, you're better off watching the WEC show tonight on Versus. That should at least have some moderately entertaining matches. And you should be in for a pretty damn fun fight between Jens Pulver and Urijah Faber as the main event.

i'd recommend skipping kimbo vids, and most elitexc ones tbh. go through some article and vid links on the right.
