Corsair Detonator Equip

Recently started meriting again on my COR, mostly in preparation for the update, but I can't seem to get a half decent number out of my Detonators. My current gear (yes I know I'm gimp) is:

head "Corsair's tricorne";
body "Shikaree aketon";
neck "Diabolos's torque";
hands "Enkelados's bracelets";
L.ring "Behemoth ring";
R.ring "Behemoth ring";
waist "Gun belt";
feet "Skadi's Jambeaux";
L.ear "Beater's earring";
R.ear "Drone earring";
legs "Jaridah salvars";
back "Amemet Mantle +1";

Using the KI dmg calculator I'm supposed to be doing high 900s (with average Chaos roll, no bard) to birds, yet I can't even break 800 dmg. On Mamool and Puks I can't even break 700.

Any ideas on what gear I can change to up that damage a bit? Aside from Nyzul gear anyways.

Using martial gun?

(btw you're better off using slug with /rng and "meh" gear)

Yeah, Martial gun. As for Slug, it tends to be only around 100~ higher than my Detonators since I just majority R.acc gear for it and even then it still misses a bit too much for my liking.

Just a slight tip on gear, even a NQ Blue Cotehardie will outdo the Shikaree most times, I used that up until I got Denali and it did well...otherwise, if you're using Sushi Detonator lands pretty easily, I'd also ditch the Gun belt for a Warwolf and one of the Behemoths for a STR ring...but if you are using Sushi Kerb is right, you'll still generally see more damage out of equipping to land Slug and just using that.

Would you mind posting your Detonator setup? After reading your other post regarding Detonator, I decided to give priority to finishing my WAR subjob (I only have RDM75 and COR75 so I didn't have much reason to have it at 37 yet, hush! XD). My current WS set has a lot of STR in it, I'm just wondering how much R.Acc I should have when subbing WAR and eating sushi given that Detonator's more accurate than Slug Shot.

Pahluwan Legs (or Skadi) would both be improvements over Jaridah Legs, too. I haven't perfected my Detonator set yet, but I'd imagine you should probably be free to go all-out STR and R.atk if you're eating sushi and still land it without too many problems.

I'm currently right at the point where upgrading the Ruby Ring to a Flame/Triumph would give me one more point of fSTR on birds with Sole/Subs, I'll get around to it eventually. Otherwise the only obvious upgrade would be Skadi hands, the other spots I can put STR would either lose RAtk or lose enough AGI to go down a point in WSC making me break even in damage change in most cases. My Slug set is about the same but I use Hollow Earring and a Behemoth Ring. Again, the posters in that other thread I made were correct, you can't really top using Sushi and Slug on merit level mobs, though I have found Detonator to hold up well vs. Slug against things like Ultima/Omega/Sky Gods where you'll have trouble getting a high RAtk/Def ratio.

Definately needs moar Crimson Fng, P Legs and Body but they take time to get points (or 20-30 days each if you do one every day), use Warwolf Belt and Rajas Ring if you have them.

Thanks for the info everyone. I'm in the process of farming up an obi and getting STR rings now, @_@ not exactly sure what position in line I'm at for Crimson hands but I'll try to get those. I'm actually not using P.body because it doesn't add any atk related stats but I'll try out blue C.

Put the Acc in body and STR/Rattack elsewhere IMO.
