Return it and get the MGS4 bundle on the 12th - they are steadily fixing emulation bugs, MGS3 should be working perfectly soon.

I thought about doing that, but I already preorder the LE of MGS4, plus nothing beats having the actual hardware in there.

But who knows, I might change my mind and agree with you tomorrow...

I don't think there's many people here with an 80 gig, but yeah I think you pretty much nailed it - mgs1+2 are perfect, 3 has some slowdown issues (although it's a little unclear if they are just cutscene/codec convo issues or actual gameplay issues).

Cancel your preorder, return the used PS3 and get the bundle.

I want the LE... so I'm returning the used PS3, getting the bundle, and selling the regular copy of MGS4 on ebay or amazon

So now the real question is... extended warranty or not?

If it doesn't break within a year, I'd say there is a really really good chance it's a keeper and shouldn't have any issues. I, on the other hand, have a 1 year old who loves to play monster trucks with her 4-wheeler. She discriminates against nothing, runs into and over everything. The TRU warranty covers accidents, so you can bet I'm taking that.
