What are the mods for "Holy" ? Just MND ?
May as well ask also while I am on the subject for Banish

MND, MAB, divine
MAB > MND > Divine in that order I assume?
I'm not sure what the base damage on Holy is or how much damage 1 MND adds to it. The damage I've seen from it is generally 'lol', but then again nobody really gears up for it, merits Banish (does that affect Holy?), etc, either.
Try the casting on a level 0 mob naked with no Magic Atk. Bonus from /BLM or /RDM, then see what adding 1 (or 5 it doesn't really matter) MND does for the damage. If 1 MND = 2 damage and the damage is under 400 or so, then MND > MAB, possibly. It would probably depend what you're casting it on really.
Never seen anyone test Holy, although Kirschy tested Banish 1 and it seemed to be 1*dMND + 14 from dMND 0 to the inflection point somewhere in the mid-double-digits. Holy is presumably similar, as something like M*dMND + V. If you want to find out, go nuke a lvl 0 mob with as little MND as you can get, and no /blm or /rdm, and not on lightsday or darksday. Then add a few points of MND and nuke again, and post here. Also, don't wear any gear, and hopefully you don't have banish effect meritted in case it affects it like someone above suggested, but if you do, make a note of that as well in your post.
If you use the huge hornets outside Port Bastok zone that would be the fastest since we already know their MND is 6.
Nearly 48, is it alright to test at 50? Hopefully I should be that by tomorrow or Monday and I'll run some tests thenOriginally Posted by Suiram
So, I spend some time casting Holy on the Huge Hornets in North Gustaberg, here are some results:

Divine skill affects the resist rate, doesn't look to do anything for adding damage. As the previous post shows, 1 MND = 1 dmg. Casting in a light staff or Apollo's staff will give it the 10% or 15% damage bonus, respectively.

took that about 2 years ago, back before I had a novio for my blm. Unfortunately I can't remember all the gear I had on me, was probably mostly +mnd from zcrown+1, errant body, etc and a few points of MAB from a moldy and zenith mitts. I might have taken this SS on lightsday with a korin obi, but I dont remember, however I didn't/don't have banish potency merits. Since then there's actually been a decent amount of divine nuking gear that's come out, yigit gomlek and templar sabatons being 2 examples, but I haven't really had much opportunity to test with my new set.
You're right though... damage is normally pretty lol, maybe 250-300 max on non-undead, but it does have its uses. I threw a set together at first to joke around with but now with the introduction of repose, it's only 2-3 extra pieces of gear on an already non-gear-intensive job. Of course uses are extremely limited but I'm fairly certain that properly geared a WHM could crack 1k+ on a skeleton with banish 3, without banish potency merits.
Sorry for the semi-derail, unfortunately I've never tested but I've always assumed through tangential observation that Holy and the other divine nukes work just like BLM nukes but use MND/MAB for their dmg instead of INT/MAB. If you want I can post my full banish set but I doubt that'll help D:
Yeah it looks from the numbers above that the base damage on Holy is just dMND + 125.
Holy was nerfed in 2003 when BLMs complained WHMs nuked for high damage and healed better than they did.
mm... errant > yigit body?
for anything you aren't going to be doing tons of damage too, id probably go with errant... so for holy, yeah. I'd use yigit body for like... banish 3 on undead, since the mab will probably outdo the mnd difference on something you're doing 700+ dmg to.
