    Banish

    Was looking on various Wiki's for the banish effects on undead, i.e. the removal of the damage reduction.

    Does anyone have a link or knowledge of the effects of banish on undead? Does it completely remove the various damage resistances, or just slightly decrease them? Is it a timed event, i.e. if you cast banish on it, is the penalty gone for good? And does higher tiers of banish effect that % more?

    Banish doesn't remove the penalty for good; the duration isn't too long, maybe up to 1 minute. Higher tiers of Banish do reduce the penalty further, but not sure if they last longer.

    This is evident from many KRT parties, can't give you any actual numbers though.

    Really wanting to know for Einherjar. Ghosts and Skeles. Was going to have a mage banish each one, and wanted to see how much the reduction was, and if it warrented higher costs per tier of banish, or even banishga.

    iirc, it was determined that higher tiers of banish affected only the duration and not the effect, though it is possible for a banish def down to miss if it were say, cast by a blm/whm. i can't find the source though, or even verify that the source was someone credible, so take it with a grain of salt.

    I tested Banish III to completely remove the 12.5% slashing resistance from skeletons. I didn't get around to testing ghosts or other banish values.

    I've always found all tiers to remove the full resistance, higher tiers make the effect last longer.

    that site's entry for Cleric's Mitts lists them as further decreasing the melee penalty as follows:
    Banish 1 50% > 55%
    Banish 2 70% > 75%
    Banish 3 90% > 95%

    unless I'm translating it wrong, doesnt that mean that in addition to having increased durations, the higher tiers of banish are progressively more potent at removing skele/ghost melee defense?

    if someone wants to double check this that'd be cool, the url is http://wiki.ffo.jp/html/7348.html. The percents are listed on the page kaeko provided for banish's entry as well.

    also, doesn't holy similarly remove defense in the same way banish does? My guess is it's somewhere between banish 2 and banish 3 in terms of defense down, but I haven't ever tested it.
