    Character models disappear

While playing models will randomly disappear. This is a brand new computer and fresh install of FFXI. It's happened twice now and they only way to correct the problem is to restart the PC

    8800GT
    E8400 Intel
    Windows XP

any ideas. I haven't updated drivers or overclocked anything yet (can usually get away without doing any of that)

I'd be stupid to ask this... But is it everyone or a certain distance? ! If its a distance turn the draw distance up in ffxi (if theres such a setting).

    Re: Character models disappear

i've isolated it to watching videos that use xvid, doesn't matter whether its MPC/WMP/Winamp, doesn't happen when I use VLC, whenever I watch one of the aforementioned type videos, when I tab back into FFXI all models (PCs, NPCs) except mine are gone

omg I thought I was CRAZY thinking it was Window Media Player causing it too, but it ALWAYS happens as soon as I begin watching a video using WMP. guess I need to switch to VLC for everything...
