Alternatives to CC for FFXI?

So...

Am a nublet 21 y/o just moved out of state, and with it cancelled my bank account which was tied to a Debit Card (No credit card, was a Visa one so could use that for FFXI and the like)... I've since opened a new account but can't get a card for X amount of time, and short of asking roommate I just met two weeks ago to borrow his CC # and pay him in kind (which I dont want to do!) not sure how else I'd be able to play FFXI until said card arrives.

That being said, do those prepaid Visa cards work? Someone mentioned they didn't think they did but weren't sure... Have been having urges to play lately but am kinda pondering how to go about it. Any idears?

Also, am a student in between taking classes with a ton of school loans so getting a credit card right now isn't really an option :X

prepaid visa or mastercard that you buy at X retail store and put Y amount on it

Confirmation that it works? No offense, simply asking if this is your suggestion, or something you've tried and know it works.

A buddy of mine mentioned that he doesnt think those cards have the 3 digit validation number on the back that debit/CC's have, which POL needs, is why I ask. Don't wanna put money on a card that won't work. I guess wouldn't hurt though, can use it for stuff I'd buy with cash anyway...

i use them to pay for accounts i bot on so as not to get group banned

Edit: Something just wasn't working, is now. Visa Gift Card works hooooo
