I see a lot of whining about not being able to get kings because of bots, but if you don't know how kings work yet then you obviously haven't been at kings long enough. You can't expect to just turn up and claim everything, I've been in a 3 kings LS for over three years now, and I can honestly say that I've seen so many new shells turn up for a couple weeks, not get claim, call everyone bots and leave never to be seen again. King camping requires a lot of patience, eventually you'll claim some kings.

And he's not wrong. I've claimed a handful of NM and HNM - I think my count's at 9? including like, Behemoths and such - in my three years in an HNMLS, and I don't use bots. It's possible, just have to have the patience. /shrug

Maybe on my server botting isn't so bad as it is on other servers, but I really think some people don't work out the probability of how likely their LS will claim correctly even before factoring in people using bots.

For example, the guy I quoted said his linkshell claimed Adamantoise 6 days in a row, I assume there weren't many other linkshells in that zone, but then because Fafnir finished early everybody came to Aspid on the 7th day making over 100 people in the zone. Now thats over an extra 80 other people they are now claiming against. 1 alliance verses 5 other full allys gives a 1/6 chance in claiming assuming everybody was equal and didn't use bots. But instead of attributing not claiming Aspid because there was an extra 80 or so people in the zone, it's much easier to just blame other LSs for "bringing their bots".

The number of people I see from new linkshells at some king camps who aren't sure about how the ToD works amazes me too, half of their LS is casting buffs, or use Defender or Flee 10 secs after the window has passed leads me to believe that they don't even have a clue at what second to concentrate on claiming.

There is little point arguing about whether camping kings is good or not, some people enjoy it and others don't. If you only want the gear but hate the camping then you will get more frustrated when you don't claim. This is why (semi-coming back onto topic) I'm really glad that Einherjar is being improved. I really hope they add the final 2 items that people camp kings for (Ridill and D.Ring) as it'll leave no reason for the people who hate camping kings to camp them any more theoretically. They just need to add more loot in the other chambers other than Odin in my opinion.

We've been camping the kings when they were in our timeframe for about 6 months now, no matter how many ppl we have in the zone, we rarely outclaim the bots. The only reason we claimed those NQ turtles for a week was because Fafnir's window was open at the same time. The one Fafnir we claimed was because the guy who bot-claimed it died (it was first window, he was afk and just stood there) and our THF mugged it when it went yellow. As for Aspi, when the group with the fewest ppl in the zone claims, and members mysteriously d/c right after claim, I think I'm allowed to say they botted it.

Anyway, yes, back to Einherjar. I would gladly give up on kings completely if the only unique items fromkings were added to lootpools there. Especially after this update fixing some of it's main problems.

I don't think anybody in our LS camps because they don't want anybody else to claim, there will always be people in our LS that need items from HQs, and of course Ridills too. Standing around is obviously tedious, but for people who play a lot, it gives them an excuse to go AFK between windows and like do stuff in real life like study or do housework. And after all this time, I still get a thrill when a mob pops red.

@ Maacha, your server must be a lot worse than mine then, although somebody AFK claimed the other week. Most LSs get a normal amount of claims though.

Just because you pay the same 12.95 doesn't make you entitled to fight these mobs. If you were, SE would have made them pop NMs. Bots don't guarentee claim, they just give a big advantage, and if you try enough you will eventually get some claims, bots or not. You may not get as many claims as you want, and there may even be months between claims, but thats how the game is designed.

I have pretty much everything there is to have for my jobs in regards to end-game, especially from camping.

Honestly, if it wasn't for camps such as these, I'd never get housework done. It forces me to stand up and find something to do for ~25m, otherwise I'd just be soloing or meriting and never stand up.

It also doesn't help that we had an old sky LS start botting kings this week, plus the "oh-we-don't-bot-but-the-same-drone-dude-always-claims-faf-for-us" linkshell had like 8 new people transfer in this week..
