Epic Season ending, but I can't be sure 24's dead, seeing as he looks like the generic Monarch grunt. Brock quitting was also unexpected, as he's turning on his genetic son (Hank) to possibly spend time with his real one.

While there are similarities between Brock & Hank, Hank was (first) born before Brock became Rusty's bodyguard and we're led to assume they never met between then and college. I think it's more likely Myra is definitely the Venture Brother's mother and Hank simply takes from his father's lack of coordination and his mothers hair, aggressiveness, and crazy.

While I'm at it, I don't think Dermott is Brock's kid either, he looks a lot more like Sgt. Hatred and he's somehow less coordinated than Hank. Further, he's a habitual liar (or at least boasts about shit he never actual did and then tries to make excuses for it), so when he said to 24 "Would you believe I'm Brock Samson's son?" I'd have to agree with 24, since he really shouldn't have taken a mini-Brock down so easily and we know he makes shit up all the time. Also, the day he said "Are you sure he's my real father?" Sgt. Hatred was there.

Brock will be back w/the Ventures next season. That didn't really feel like much of a cliffhanger to me, It was more about #24 and Hunter/Molotov to me. I mean what would the Venture Brothers be like w/o Brock!?! Impossible!

At the end OSI(so) said they weren't after Brock, so was it Molotov who sent the 3 guys after him?

Molotov/Hunter backstab was pretty bad ass, I wonder if she killed Cleaner too then? Anyways, Hunter's betrayal is likely because Hunter wants a new field, and he was always visibly unhappy as a stripper, and Black hearts are female mercs, and well, he's a accomplished soldier.

I don't recall anyone telling Brock he ever had a son, so he probably still doesn't know. The last we saw of the Cleaner, he was riding off in the car with Molotov, so he's probably fine.

What I don't understand is how everyone was able to stow away on the cocoon to get back to the Venture compound.

The Orb is kept locked away by Dr. Venture after he decided not to use it. I doubt it will be used again, that story is pretty much done.

As amusing as it would be to see it appear in another episode, I kinda want next season to be more story heavy... And I haven't seen em go back and do follow-up's on filler episodes (though I may be wrong)

IGN posted a good review of the season finale... but what caught me by surprise was what they mentioned at the very end of it (dont read unless your looking for a major spoiler):

But this episode isn't all laughs and excitement, it also provides ample plot-advancing material for the next season, such as #24's death and Brock's resignation from O.S.I. as Rusty Venture's body guard. The biggest cliffhanger, however, comes just after the credits rolled when we discover that Hunter S. Thompson likeness and Brock's mentor, Hunter Gathers was involved in a plot to dismantle O.S.I.

There are a number of things I can only hope to see in the next season, which is set to premier in Fall 2009. In the year of waiting, Jackson Publick and Doc Hammer will presumably develop the Ventures toward a Brock-free existence. It'll be interesting to see whether they choose to make that a fundamental part of the season four plot or not. At one point during the episode that almost slipped by me, Sgt. Hatred offered to take Brock's place. Perhaps that could a be a sign of things to come. Only time will tell!

DVD came out tuesday and nobody has said anything? What?!?!

I'm sadly only through disc 1 (Darn school work!!!!)

But this season has gotten better with age. It all makes a lot more sense looking at it as a complete work rather than an episode at a time.

So I see the ads and think "Why are there two cover variants on the Season 3 DVD set?" as I pick up and buy the orange box.

Then I get home and find out the other set was Blu-Ray.

FUUUUUUUU

Oh well, I really hope there's not much discernible difference between the two.
