Oh yeah, definitely.
I'll never forget Krizalid, Goenitz, Rugal or Geese.
One point for Rugal though, when I first started playing CvS2 I got constantly manhandled by U.Rugal.
Cheap bastards when they are bosses.
Crying Wolf in MGS4
Fucking whiteouts and constant low psyche annoyed the hell out of me not to mention soldiers all over the damn place
Nawt RPG, but still ugh
I can't remember how many times I've heard Rugal say "Genocide Cutter" in my life. But it's way too many times. Least that's what it sounds like he's saying.
Since it's still relatively new, i'll put a spoiler tag on the name of the boss..
in ToV was a pain in the butt... stop healing yourself damnit!Spoiler: show
He used his mystic arte, so I had to cure my chars up and raise the ones who died... by the time I was back up with everyone, he had recovered like 40k HP. >.> That last 50k took about 5 minutes.
Krizalid was so gay that stupid kick where he shouts (Tornado?) that takes up half the screen and takes 1/5th of your life...
But he has that badass super where he pins you against a wall and does a 60 hit combo with his elastic arms http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hZ494XxheGo at 3:09 is what im talking about
SNK used to make some damn cool games. I was one of the only people in school who actually had the Neo-Geo cartridge system. Shit was expensive as hell. Two hundred dollars per game. World Heroes was another fun game. There was a fighting game, I can't remember the name of it for the life of me, it was without a doubt the hardest fighting game ever made. It was never released in the US but my father's friend had it shipped to me when he went on a business trip. I couldn't get past the first fucking guy.
Fast forward to a couple of months ago and my friend has it for his coin-op machine along with Super Spy. Ten years later and I finally made it past the first guy. And I was playing as a little black kid who used a basketball for a weapon lol. Nice stereotyping.
Pretty much every boss battle from Persona 3 goes here. I can't imagine what the game must be like on hard mode. The last one, floor 36 boss, I barely won because it decided to use a single-target skill (which he has available in multi-target as well) repeatedly on the one character who resists that element, thank god.
This game is brutal. I love it. I can't wait for a New Game+ Hard Max S-Link run through.
By FES bosses do you mean just bosses from The Answer or are you including bosses from the updated version of P3?
The Answer.. it's set to Hard by default and you can't switch it.. naturally when you design a game around that difficulty, the bosses are that much stronger.
I can't even begin to explain to you how annoying some bosses in The Answer are lol... I would stop playing for days just to get rid of the frustration, but I did beat it eventually.
Oh wow, the bosses in the main game have been more of the "scrape through on the third try by the skin of your teeth" difficult, as opposed to "quit playing the game for a few days" difficult... I'm totally looking forward to The Answer now -_-
It's totally fun though lol.. hell normal battles in FES are challenging, especially if you come off of Journey/Normal... but I got used to it rather quickly.
Play-Asia still has some copies.
Yea, SMT: Nocture...several bosses from that (Lucifer isn't actually too bad if you have most of your team learn that Armor Pierce or Pierce or whatever the trait is called). I do not know of a single person who didn't lose to Matador first try unless they knew he was coming. That stupid fucker came out of nowhere and owned my face off (Wiegraf 2.0 basically). Starts by maxing Acc/Eva and then once you damage him for a bit, he's like "Whatever lol", Focuses and uses some retarded Rampagey AoE move that can quite easily KO 1-2 party member that were at full health if most of the hits land on them (and Hero death=game over).
Lots of the Graveyard boss re-runs, Labyrinth bosses and other Candelabrum (sp?) monsters were pretty difficult, hell even some story bosses were really hard without knowing the "trick" to them (every boss had either some monster, move, trait, or whatever that if used made the fight much easier) but the game was quite worth it to me, very fun and different even from the Persona series. Story was... odd though.
Yeah, I'm looking forward to it. I think the battle I fought was just one I was poorly-prepared for (Junpei was sick and I didn't have him in my party, but I had to beat the boss because it was the last day for one of Elizabeth's requests for an Old Document and it was in the way). Strangely enough, the next full moon boss was really easy, I thought those were supposed to be harder than the regular bosses (the monorail one sure was). It was those two shadows that waste half their time changing weaknesses instead of, you know, attacking you.
I keep seeing Nocturne at the Gamestop near me for $50, and I'm not sure if I should get it or not, but I'm enjoying P3 so much that I might have to splurge. I never knew Megaten games were so awesome.
I didn't like Nocturne... played it for 3-4 hours and was completely turned off... Persona3 appealed to me a lot more.
I'm looking forward to P4 personally.
