Do you camp on other parties?

I've been playing FF for 5 years now, 3 of them as my mithra Didgist. I've always been a good party leader, I make balanced groups and search out open camps before I group up. I take the time to find an open camp for every group I make, i'm sure my members wouldn't want to just shit on someone else's day. What's becoming more and more apparent now that i'm almost done grinding exp out for cap is that generally people don't seem to give a shit. They view FF as a game of competition, not one where you help people and make friends and try to avoid being a complete douchebag.

There are 80 thousand camps in vana'diel. With how empty Hedeiva Isle is I honestly can't understand why there are always 80 parties at Azouph Staging point killing only Imps. I don't need to jack peoples camps to EXP, I know the game well enough to solo or find another camp. If your party is too novice to dodge a few Soulflayers when Hedieva is open then in my opinion it's pretty weak to make someone else's group pay for it when you could go pick a Signet Camp.

What i'm asking is what do people think about this on your server? In the extremely rare cases I wasn't the PT leader I would just warp if they refused to find an open camp. Honestly, i'm just exhausted trying to think about it, and I would like to know what everyone else thinks. I'll get my cap regardless if someone steals every camp I take for the last 1,000,000 exp, just want to know if I should join the darkside and start jacking camps since I pay my 15 bucks like everyone else.

For clarification, I'm referring mostly to when a PT has every mob killed so quickly that they are waiting on repops, and another PT comes to rival them.

if i see 0 mobs, i always leave. if i see a lot of mobs like the PT there is AFK or totally wasting the camp, it depends on my mood at the time and what the other people in the PT wants to do.

very often i'll ask how long the other PT plans to stay there.

Its annoying, but its going to happen. Some people are nice about it and will move their camp if you politely ask them to, others say tough crap. Its just how it goes in ToAU areas. If this is something that bothers you alot, my reccomendation is to return your Meripo to the original zones. The exp is not nearly as good, but you will almost never have to worry about people camping on you. What drives me up a wall is players soloing in famous EXP camps. People subbing dancer fighting Yuhtunga Mandies when there are 4 parties in the zone ><

If there are mobs up, ill steal the camp. Chances are the party currently there is just wasting the camp. And if you are on Phoenix you know who will waste a camp and who will not.

I will never knowingly camp on another party or solo player. This comes from levelling BST and having about 18 thousand people arrive in my camp and try to push me out. Having said that though... if I go and scout out a merit camp and both our parties arrive at the same time... I WILL keep going and ruin the other party's exp. >:3 Ditto /anon BSTs and /BSTs, you have no right to a camp as a soloist if you don't make it known that you are there.

I usually only merit at weird times so I never have the whole "camp drama" that I see people shouting about at colibri etc.

QFT. If there is mobs up my party is about to displace your party. Using an ideal setup with 2 brds 4 decked melee and outside RDMs healing a merit pt. Ill gladly displace any party as long as its not my own linkshell. If my party can make 25k/hr compared to another parties 10k/hr. Were putting better use to the camp. Let them go grind it out on Dhamals in Bibiki Bay with there 74 PLD and 73 SMN.

I think it's incredibly rude to camp on top of someone who is there already, but that doesn't mean I'm always above it.

If it's someone I just really don't like, generally b/c they've tried to coup my camp before, I'll swoop right in especially if I have a stronger setup. If I don't sometimes I still will just to be a jerk and cut into their kills so that both of us get mediocre XP/hr. If it's a normal party I have nothing against, they were there first and I'll go find a new camp...although lately I've honestly preferred taking an XP/hr cut and camping on something that will have worthwhile drops, like Diorites or WotG NM trigs.

Depends on the camp and the party. I won't run other parties out of birds. I won't go to Mire with a 75 party and trash 3-4 camps worth of imps and Jnuns. I will go to MMJ SP and drive out any party that looks like it's getting less than 15-20k/hr, because I know I can do better there and they can do better elsewhere. In general, I try to avoid any situation where the situation becomes two or more parties getting shitty exp instead of one party getting decent/good exp.

Yeah basically how i see it. When i exp with ls members i know ill be fine to steal a camp if i see there are mobs up. mean no reason to waist a birds camp on pld's trying to get 74 when i have ridill war's and 2 brds.

As its been said, if they're wasting it, I take it. I try to use my best judgement though, when it comes to who's wasting and who's not. If I feel they're actually being moderately productive, I'll try and be a nice guy and ask them how long they plan on staying.

But honestly, nothing pisses me off more than when some PLD THF DNC PUP BLM WHM parties walks on top of your camp when you're clearly eradicating everything the second it pops.

I will drive anyone out that has tried to compete with my party in the past or currently is trying to. I ask the PT leader and a few members if they are at a certain camp, and if unresponsive, it is their fault. PT leaders that have searched and asked others parties what camps they are at have positions set in their search comments and which areas they are pulling mobs from. I respect that if they are not responsive and do not want to waste AP to check on the party and two of their members says its their leader.

At puddings when I solo on BLM and am there first, most of the time, people will come with their own party, and I will drive them out. If the party isn't full for a while, I will drive them out. I do not ask for courtesy, or expect any. I have yet to be asked what camp I am at, or ask them to leave. If they ask me to leave, I tell them my courtesy is not to ask them to leave.

SE should give the same bonuses sanction gives in Zilart areas with signet imo. They can't expect players to be willing to be that courteous to one another, especially when they are being spoiled with sanction bonuses and squishy mobs. People used to crowd ZM exp areas in their races to 75 and still were too lazy to communicate with party leaders.

I don't like doing it for multiple reasons. First and foremost, it's generally not practical for me. Some parties will just leave. Many others will continue to slow you down anyway. I also just don't like being rude like that.

Few party leaders I've had will insist on camping on top of people though.

I mostly don't do it. For the better part, the shitty PTs still find enough of a way to wreck your XP. 9/10 times I go to birds, I will get camped on top, or even have a fucking duo there killing chains. I'd rather go anywhere else if I can knock out 12-15k/hr, as long as I don't have to deal with the god awful fucking frustration of camping on top of / being camped on top of. It drives me nuts so much to see a gimp PT thats getting somehow under 10k/hr at birds or mamools, but you know they think they're awesome and it's great xp, might as well stay, etc, that i'd rather go to sky if I could get people to.

if there are 2 or more non-75s in the PT, it is usually about the best that PT can get.

I'm of the mindset that the party that can take advantage of the camp the most gets the camp.

So if you can't outpull/outkill my party, be prepared for frustration.

I whole heartedly disagree. People who don't care enough about their productivity to equip themselves properly don't deserve the best camps the game has to offer. If they're fine with being horrible, they can be fine with using horrible camps.

When it's a LS pt, I don't mind driving others out, but I do feel bad for them , I prefer not to do it, I prefer to go to one of the billion open places like Ulegard (my fav!) but some people just don't want to travel, and with the ease of runic portals I can completely understand why.

Still would rather fight demons than colibris any day, even if I don't end up doing the most damage.
