Do you camp on other parties?

I've had people come and camp on top of my parties. Being a Paladin I've been told multiple times by other parties that they can better utilize the area. I will not move in this circumstance and I will do whatever is in my power to completely fuck over your group. I will have party mates stand right on top of you and spam spikes spells while you're fighting. Why?

Who are you to deem whether or not a party is going up to your standards? For some people it's not about getting 25k per hour. It's about having fun with a bunch of friends while you're getting some xp. Camp on me, it will be the worst party you've ever had.

well I was going to be nice about it but I'm oppositely the same way, I don't give a shit about my exp as long as I can torment whoever wants to compete against my parties, usually 2 brd (or brd, cor) rdm ridill x3 (amano, apocalypse, insert super dd here) and I don't mind 5k an hour as long as the other party is getting worse exp. although I'm one of the people who promote 21+ hour camps just so I can bot mobs for items I don't need just so others can't get them. yeah, I'm that guy

I think the worst thing is when you have a 100+ chain party going full strength, and a SMN+PLD party shows up and ruins your chain just so they can kill 1 bird a minute. I will deliberately drive you out of that camp if your party is obviously gimp, I like to say to my party that I'm going into "makesuretheyhavenobirds" mode and will slack on the songs just to claim over them.

I'm inclined to agree with the first person @ camp gets to keep the camp.
I personally prefer going to an empty camp like oz [s](not been there yet) ,beady [s], i want to try out ulegrand range, and/or the top floor of nyzul with the mamool which is usually open since the gimps know they cant handle it and as such are far less likley to CC me for a pt spot.
Any other camp out there is inferior in my experience since even if you manage to get 30k an hour you WILL get CC incoming to slow down your chains anywhere else. I'd rather get consistent exp than get 20k+ exp for 30 minutes before dealing with assholes driving my exp down.
My exception tends to involve times when some asshole JPonly guy ignored me and i get a sadistic glee from driving his pt out.

Yeah basically how i see it. When i exp with ls members i know ill be fine to steal a camp if i see there are mobs up. mean no reason to waist a birds camp on pld's trying to get 74 when i have ridill war's and 2 brds.

I'll run people out if they are in one of the two bird camps. If I go to the mire or mamool staging point and they are full, I will look for another spot. Birds are just so much easier and the exp per hour is far superior(in my opinion), so they should be kept for parties that will use all the mobs.

Have fun wasting your time getting no EXP while annoying people. Spikes don't even cause unless you're running on a pentium2. Respect is earned, and EXP rate is not subjective.

Anyway... depends on how good my party is and how good the offending party is.

When it's a LS pt, I don't mind driving others out, but I do feel bad for them , I prefer not to do it, I prefer to go to one of the billion open places like Ulegard (my fav!) but some people just don't want to travel, and with the ease of runic portals I can completely understand why.

Still would rather fight demons than colibris any day, even if I don't end up doing the most damage.

You can hit me up for Uleg *any* fucking time, it's my favourite camp in the game.

I don't drive people out of camps, even with a good setup. I think it's shitty. I will however defend a camp which really only suits one party to the freaking hilt if it needs it. There have been many times when parties have tried and most of the time if you have a clue it's easy to make xp awkard enough they realise it isn't worth it. Usually though I just do some research and avoid the situ in the first place. I hate meriting most of the time, just get into the mood for it for a few days, get a heap done and then leave it for a couple of months. But that's the benefit of having long ago capped out the jobs I really care about.

I liked UR. I like trying camps others don't usually visit but it's hard work to persuade some to go there.

Every so often I and enough of the right people at the right time get together to make a 'super PT' that pulls in 30-32k+/h, and basically ends up claiming the entire mamool ja staging point area. <.<

We don't camp on top of or really anywhere near any PTs. Our camp is out near the north wall of the main area, right next to where all the Skoffins spawn.

But, the killspeed is so fast we end up clearing almost all mobs constantly aside from the group deep in the northern area. Any PT that arrives at the staging point and tries to compete with us ends up leaving within 10-20m, and the same basically applies to any pre-exhisting PTs (at least ones outside the deep northern area). Although most of the time when we start a PT like this up the area is either completely empty or there's only 1-2 other PTs and plenty of mobs up.

Only have a PT like that once every few months or so, but I bet people must hate it...

I keep a blacklist of names outside the game of people I'll refuse to party with over that shit when I'm on jobs they desire. I can't pull that on blue mage, but on RDM or BRD you can bet your sweet ass I do.

If there are mobs up, ill steal the camp. Chances are the party currently there is just wasting the camp. And if you are on Phoenix you know who will waste a camp and who will not.

Kind of sad to see how willing people are to try to push others out of a camp. Not saying I haven't done it before but I comes down to what you consider "wasting a camp" is. My standard is if less than half the spawns are up I will move on. If I get to a camp at the same time as another I will random with them, if they won't do that then be prepared to have a pull war.

In non merit situations I have refused to and left parties that have wanted to camp on top of other parties. Most of my merit pts are mostly LS so we are usually all on the same page and willing to go to alternate camps. I do not get enjoyment out of destroying others enjoyment.

72-74 party on birds.... go find a better camp; I dont think twice about driving them off.
Another party thats keeping the area over 80% bird free, I will let them keep the camp; Hey we all have slowdowns or things which cant keep every mob dead on spawn from time to time.
No search comment/no response to tells asking camp position = screw them.

I fear not the soulflayer camp. Sure you can agro one from time to time but once you figure out how that camp works its very easy.

I, along with any decent player, can make a Relic/2BRDor2CORorBRD&COR insane ass PT and destroy every single bird merit PT any time of day with about 0 effort. I just have to bring people who I know can and will claim mobs. I don't excercise the right to do this because it's fucking annoying to both me and everyone else around me. To each their own I guess, I'd rather get a girl(camp) that's untouched than the one 15 people are boning at the same time. People who don't mind that kind of thing get Herpes and such.

YES, that was all the fun about it back in the day. That's because all of our gear was shit, it was up to guys like me that on any job would claim the shit out of any mob no matter who was there or how many parties were in the camp. This is also back when we all thought 15k and hour was the most insane exp anyone had ever seen. Times have changed, there's a lot more badasses around, and the fact is if people wont respect others camps everyone is going to get exp like it's 2006. I've grown up a little bit and in return i can break 33k/hr. I can't see why others wouldn't want the same.

If someone is obviously using all the mobs, and (not were there first) took the time to find an open camp, then it doesn't matter if you can justify taking the camp from them. Play World of Warcraft and gank people, or get headshots in Halo/MoHA/etc: Pretty much go somewhere that the fact that you are a douchebag is appreciated as well as a part of the games mechanics.

You can't hit chain 400 in FF in a busy camp. It doesn't matter if SE made the initial "mistake", neither an uber meripo????or a weak ass pld whm dnc pup blm (insert job that SE hasn't buffed so people think it makes them look intelligent to insult here) will break 30k an hour if both parties stay. Everyone makes a big point about how they are using the game more correctly, I can't see how waiting for the best opportunity to merit(Open camp) isn't the most important part of not wasting FF.

Give me a parse of a BB/Relic/Support up the ass merit that gets over 30k an hour on Colibri while 7 other parties are there. People will jack camps and on the same token people won't leave. Both are wasting it, because you're at Colibri doing less than 30k an hour. I did 31k/hr 45 minutes ago with BRD BRD WHM DRG SAM WAR and no one in party had a relic. Grats Shiz on capped STR!
