Process on my computer that lags shutdown?

So I've been having this issue for awhile and could never figure out what it was. This certain process hpcmpmgr.exe interrupts my shutdown process every single time, and I either have to wait for the computer to shut it down automatically or have me click "End now" for the computer to shut off as normal. Now is this process something legit or could it be a virus or something? I would really like to remedy this as its just annoying to hit shutdown and have to wait to click something else before I can leave the computer alone.
My computer is 4 years old, an HP Pavilion zd8000 if that helps.
Any suggestions?

Actually no I haven't >.<
I tried looking thru the HP site the other day but I couldn't find any info on older models. Thanx hope this fixes it
